Let's hope this is the beginning of another long winning streak as we cashed with the Columbus Blue Jackets last night easily. Tonight is the last day of the month and no matter what happens we've had a winning month but obviously we'd like to finish it up strong as we move into December.

We haven't had an update on NHL trend betting lately so let's give one before revealing our NHL prediction

Home teams are still dominating ticket cashing with a record of 210-104 (61.58%). If you're a trend better you have three opportunities tonight without giving up much juice. The Islanders are a +130, Calgary -120, and the Los Angeles Kings -130. One of those we're going against as our play of the night. Home favorites are cashing at a higher rate of 64% (164-68). That leaves Calgary and Los Angeles as the trend options.

We betting the puck-line the trend reverses. Underdogs getting the +1.5 are 233-108 good for a 68.33%. Home dogs are even stronger cashing tickets at a 70.79% rate (63-26). As usual this is not our preferred way to bet because you very rarely lay less than -200 taking the +1.5. Most of the time when you're laying less than -200 you're getting an extremely poor team.

The 'under' continues to be profitable as it has been the winning side in over 54% of the games this season. Tonight you'll be paying a small premium to back the 'under' but this is rarely enough to stay off a game. I would offer some advice on tonight's 'totals' as all three games have a strong 'over' tone.

We're going to finish off the month of November with a West Coast showdown between San Jose and Los Angeles. I currently have the San Jose Sharks (13-9-1 27 pts) ranked second in my power ratings and the surging Los Angeles Kings 4th. This has always been a good situation to play on the Sharks who have been an easy ticket casher against the leagues top teams. The Sharks have won 25 of their last 36 games against teams with a .500 record or better. San Jose has beaten Los Angles six of their last seven meetings including five straight at the Staples Center.

Bettors will be on the Kings because we know that the public bets on what they just saw and that was Los Angeles beating one of the leagues in the Chicago Blackhawks. The Sharks are also coming off a victory against Arizona but not as impressive. So we'll take advantage of the public driving the plus price up for us.
