Only two games tonight but we still have identified a strong money making opportunity as we roll on. There is a good value on the Calgary Flames as home underdogs tonight for a straight up win. Here's our NHL Pick.

2016-2017 NHL Pick Record:   28-21   .571   +15.19 units

We didn't get our game last night on our daily write-up but what a night we had on the 'Puck Heads' video as we crushed all three releases for 10 units each.  I was beginning to wonder why we couldn't win a game on video's but had no problem the rest of the time. Well, we are still -3.44 on 'Puck Heads' video's but beats being down 40 units at one point. I certainly still have work to do but I'm more than confident that our NHL prediction record on Tuesday and Thursday's will soon match-up to the rest of the week.

One housekeeping note, I'll be on vacation from the 4th-8th and because it's out of the U.S. I don't know what I'll have as far as internet access but I'll do my best to get plays to you but I'll will not be on the 'Puck Heads' this upcoming week but let's try to give you some winners before I leave.

First, let's look at some strong trends pertaining to tonight's schedule and which should be taken seriously as a reason to bet a specific team.

The Montreal Canadiens visit the San Jose Sharks tonight with the Sharks listed as a -130 favorite. The home team was almost our play because of some very strong trends. I still need to see a consistent road effort from the Canadiens as they have always been a weak road selection with an 11-27 record in their last 38 games. Our guess is the public will be on Montreal as they will blindly play a 16-5 team getting plus money. Our power ratings suggest that San Jose is the side because you're getting the better of the two at home. I have very little interest going against the Sharks who have won five of six.

Our NHL pick tonight features the Minnesota Wild traveling to Calgary to take on Glen Gulutzan's Flames. I don't have the Wild ranked as a team that I would bet on with any confidence so I'm surprised that they are a -150 road favorite with the money pouring in on the Wild.  The Wild have dropped six of their last seven games against the Western Conference and five of six against teams with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Flames have won four of their last five when playing on one day's rest. We don't use trends much to decide who we're going to back but for those that do, those are a few compelling reasons to back Calgary as a huge home dog.
