The public has heavily bet the Penguins early. But, our expert capper Dana Lane will tell you why the Ducks will make it two victories in two days in the Sunshine State in his NHL Pick.

We continue to have a great start to the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season as the Columbus Blue Jackets gave us a gift using a late third-period rally to beat the Dallas Stars helping us to cash another ticket.

Small schedule tonight as three games follow up last night's monster slate of games.

One game easily sticks out as another chance to play a quality team at a plus price, a price that seems to be going up every hour at our NHL Odds Page.

The Ducks opened as small favorites at most books but were quickly bet against as the number has soared to +124 in some spots.  I beg the public to keep betting the Penguins so we can get the best number possible.

The Penguins have made a big deal out of the fact that they are the healthiest that they've been all season as Matt Murray starts in goal for the first time this season. Of course the public rushes to the Pens side because they remember Murray bringing home the Cup to the Steel City while the Penguins are one of the teams that the public likes to blindly bet anyway. The one dynamic of a team that has declared themselves healthy is they haven't had much time on the ice as a unit.  Although a 100% Penguins roster is impressive let's give them a few games to gel as a unit before I start financially backing them on the road against a quality opponent.

Kris Letang is also returning for the Penguins who is an Elite defensemen. Letang has been out for a week and a half with a upper body injury.  His presence will be a positive for sure but I have a rule, never bet a team who is getting a superstar back until you've seen them play and the team has positively absorbed their infusion.

The Ducks have their own star returning in Rickard Rakell who is being counted on as a 20-25 goal scorer.  Rakell will be playing in only his second game this year.

Let's check in on an angle that is significant to tonight's match-up.

  • A streak that we've been tracking dating back to last season are teams records on back to back nights.
  • The Ducks are as hot as you could be winning six of their last seven on the second of back to back nights.
  • The home team has won four of the last five games while Pittsburgh has dropped seven of their last 10 trips to Anaheim.
