NHL Betting: Friday Picks
There are just three games on the schedule for Friday night. Since we’ve had a look at the NHL odds in the Nashville-Vancouver game in a separate article, that leaves us with two games for our daily picks piece. Here’s what we’ve got for Friday:
Record: 51-58 (-570)
Florida Panthers at Pittsburgh Penguins
When I look at this matchup, I only really see one way to play this: Pittsburgh -1.5.
The Florida Panthers are simply pathetic and them earning a one-off win on Thursday night in Philadelphia doesn’t change my opinion. Now they have to make a quick turnaround and head to Pittsburgh on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Pens are coming off an ugly loss to Philadelphia and will probably want to make a better impression.
I think Pittsburgh wins here but there’s no way I’m laying -215 with the Pens considering they have just three wins in seven home contests. They have registered home losses to the Flyers, New York Islanders and Toronto, so they are more than capable of laying an egg. That being the case, I’ll lay the puck line and expect them to roll. If they don’t, the burn won’t be so bad.
NHL Picks: Penguins -1.5 +140
San Jose Sharks at Chicago Blackhawks
The San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks will meet for the third time in February and it’s tough to gauge what we’ll get. The Blackhawks are still undefeated in regulation but the feeling is that they are coming closer and closer to getting that loss. Meanwhile, the Sharks finally ended their tumultuous seven-game losing streak but this will be their fifth game in a six-game road trip.
I think the way to play this would be the under. The Sharks have not been scoring much recently as they haven’t scored more than two goals in any of their last five games. Meanwhile, the under has also cashed in four of the last five Blackhawks games.
NHL Picks: Under 5.5 at BetOnline for the final NHL Picks.
