There is much anticipation on tonight's game between the Oilers and Maple Leafs, as both are squads that feature young talent and seem to be ready to pull on a high scoring game. Here's Ian Cameron's free NHL Pick.

NHL POD 5-4 57%

Edmonton Oilers vs Toronto Maple Leafs

These are two teams loaded with plenty of young talent, speed and skill in their lineups and both should be ready to explode on the scoreboard. Edmonton head coach Todd McLellan said he wanted to improve his team's power play on this upcoming road trip which starts tonight in Toronto after Edmonton’s 2-0 home loss to the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night. This is the much-anticipated first meeting between #1 overall draft picks Connor McDavid of the Oilers and Auston Matthews of the Leafs.

When Matthews and #2 overall draft choice Patrik Laine squared off for the first time in the Winnipeg/Toronto game a few weeks ago, that game sailed Over the total in a very entertaining 5-4 game won by the Jets in OT. Both teams went after it and played with significant pace and tempo. I expect more of the same here. McDavid and Matthews are downplaying this matchup to the media but they are both competitors wanting to be the best and will want to make a statement of some kind offensively in this game. For my free NHL Pick, I expect this game to be filled with plenty of pace, scoring chances and ultimately goals.
