The fierce Pacific Division rivalry between the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks resumes tonight. We’ll provide you with the all the pertinent details on this game. Take the time to read our revealing NHL betting article that will make you a more informed sports bettor today.

Sharks look to devour the Ducks
The Sharks will host the Ducks this evening at the SAP Center in San Jose with the opening face-off slated for 10:35 PM ET. At the time of this writing there was no money line or total posted on this contest by any of the major sportsbooks. The Sharks have won 4 of the 6-meetings between these clubs since the start of the 2013-2014 NHL campaign.

No Time to Sulk for Anaheim
The Anaheim Ducks are coming off a 4-1 home loss at the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks last night. The loss snapped a 3-game Anaheim winning streak. Despite the defeat, the Ducks remain tied with the Vancouver Canucks atop the Western Conference standings. Anaheim has continued a season long trend of playing on the low side of the total. The Ducks have seen each of their previous 3-games go under the total. The Ducks have gone over the total just 4-times in their last 20-games. However, it must be noted, the Ducks have allowed 27-goals over their last 8-games.

Currently no bite in these Sharks
The San Jose Sharks enter tonight’s games riding a 4-game losing streak. It marks the 2nd time already in this young season that Sharks have lost 4 in a row. Ironically, the last time they entered a game this season having lost 4 in a row was at Anaheim on October 26th, and they came away with a 4-1 win over the Ducks. Despite their recent funk, the Sharks have outshot their opponents in each of those previous 4-games, and also by a dominating cumulative total of 135-86. Unfortunately all of that sustained offensive pressure hasn’t translated to an abundance of goal scoring. As a matter of fact, the Sharks have scored 2-goals or less in 8 of their last 9-games, and have scored a grand total of 14-goals during that period of time.

Final Analysis
Considering the last 5-times these clubs have met the total was 5.5, it would be safe to assume there’s a high probability that will be the number this evening. As I alluded to earlier in the article, the Ducks have seen the vast majority of their games this season stay under the total, and the Sharks have struggled mightily to score goals during the past few weeks. I’m going to lean toward this one being a low scoring affair, and as a result will advise a wager on the total as one of your NHL picks for today.
