Starting Goalies
Unfortuantely, we're unable to get confirmation on the starting goalies as this is the late game of the night. Keep checking by simply googling throughout the day. We're to assume that the 1st stringers, Pekka Rinne and Martin Jones will be in net for each respective team.

Nashville is 4th in the league in goals allowed at 2 goals per game and Rinne (5-1-1, 1.84 GAA) has been in net for every game except for one. He's been simply dominant and if it's not broke, it doesn't need to be fixed. He definitely should be in net tonight in a big game such as this. Rinne possesses a .932 SV% and offers the Predators a great opportunity for Nashville to win and at very appealing NHL odds.

The Sharks are no slouch, allowing just 2.3 goals per contest and, just like Rinne, Martin Jones has been a beast between the pipes. For the season, Jones is 5-2 with a 1.69 GAA and already has 2 shutouts on his resume this season. Where goalie is concerned, it's a wash as both of these goaltenders are a main reason why their respective teams have been winning this season.

Joel Ward
Although the center position dominates the Sharks offense with Joe Pavelski (3 goals, 4 assists) , Joe Thornton (2 goals, 4 assists), and Patrick Marleau (3 goals, 2 assists), right winger, Joel Ward, leads the Sharks in scoring and has been the perfect marksmen.

In just 14 shots on goal in 8 games, Ward has 5 goals. That means he has connected  on more than 1/3 of his shots. It's a small sampling, but this is unheard of. Along with the 5 goals, Ward has 3 assists and a +2 in plus/minus ratio. In just 3 games at the Shark Tank, Ward has an amazing 4 goals and 2 assists. He's not going to put a ton of pressure on Rinne, but expect Ward to be a factor in this game.

Another key player on the defensive end is Brent Burns. Burns is a very underrated player and major contributor on this team. Along with racking up 10 penalty minutes, Burns leads the Sharks in SOG with 35. He's also a key to the Sharks' success and must put forth his best effort if San Jose expects to knock of the Predators.

Redemption Time
Nashville is coming off of an unexpected 2-1 loss in overtime to Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. They're not used to losing and I expect a bounce back performance tonight. Guys like defenseman, Shea Weber, help in making the Predators one of the best power play killing teams in the league and the offensive leader on the Predators is left winger, James Neal.

Neal leads the Predators with 6 goals and 3 assists and a +5. He's also not afraid to get physical when need be. This is a very aggressive player and one of the key reasons why Nashville doesn't lose. A power play specialist, Neal has 3 goals and 1 assists in 3 games on the road. Something has to give here as both goaltenders are stingy. Look for a low scoring affair between two talented teams as our NHL pick for today.
