After a solid ride on Sunday where we cashed three of four plays – including a juicy puck line – we’ll try to keep it rolling on Monday. Here’s our NHL picks from the six-game card:

Revisit yesterday's best picks on the NHL odds total from Dave Lawrence here.

Ottawa Senators vs. Washington Capitals
NHL Odds: Capitals -195
The Washington Capitals have been playing really well of late as they’ve notched at least a point in eight straight games. For bettors, what matters is that they have six wins (6-0-2) in that span. One of the main reasons for that solid stretch is goaltender Braden Holtby, who has led the way with a 1.84 GAA in that span. He’s expected to be in net again on Monday.

At the other end of the ice with the Ottawa Senators should be goaltender Craig Anderson. Robin Lehner started the Sens latest contest, so Anderson is expected. He’s played really well against Washington. The Sens have won seven straight against the Caps and Anderson has been in net for each of those affairs, posting a 1.57 GAA. Because of the goaltenders here, take the under with your NHL picks.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Vancouver Canucks
NHL Odds: Canucks -200
The Canucks ended their ugly five-game losing streak on Saturday and they have a good opportunity in front of them to string together another win on Monday. The Arizona Coyotes are playing horribly right now and can’t be trusted. Arizona has lost six of seven with their only win being a 2-1 overtime triumph over the league-worst Edmonton Oilers. Most of those losses came at home where they are supposed to have an advantage. On the road, they have just six wins in 16 games. Their goaltending has been awful as Devan Dubnyk has just one win and a 3.12 GAA over his last five while Mike Smith has just one win and a 3.27 GAA over his last 12.

This is a bit of a revenge game (or should be) for the Canucks as the last time these two teams faced off (last month), the Coyotes thumped the Canucks 5-0. The Coyotes have just four wins in 15 games since and Vancouver should be able to exert a little payback.

With the NHL odds juice being so high, take a flier on the Canucks puck line.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Florida Panthers
NHL Odds: Penguins -140
The Penguins are an awfully tempting NHL pick in this spot, laying a relatively low number on the road in Florida and I can’t keep away. Florida is actually a decent team and these teams are in a home-and-home situation. The Pens won the first game and often times it’s hard to sweep both of the contests.

Nonetheless, the Pens are 9-2-3 on the road this season while the Panthers are 7-4-2 at home. It doesn’t look like there’s a big home-ice advantage here.

This is just a tough spot for the Panthers as they don’t score a lot of goals. Their 2.10 non-shootout goals is one of the lowest numbers in the NHL. Meanwhile, Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has allowed one or less in eight of his last 10 starts against the Panthers.

This figures to be a low scoring game and the under probably makes sense too, but at -140, I’ll take the Pens.
