The Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Dallas to take on the Stars in what should be a competitive matchup. Read on for our Maple Leafs-Stars picks and predictions based on the latest odds.

Two red-hot teams with major issues finishing in extra time face off Tuesday night in Dallas.

Saturday’s 4-3 overtime loss at Tampa Bay snapped a five-game winning streak for the Maple Leafs and dropped them to 1-6 in games decided after 60 minutes. They stay on the road for Tuesday’s game, which marks the end of a stretch of six road games in a seven-game span.

The Stars, meanwhile, followed up back-to-back wins against the St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks with Sunday’s 6-5 shootout loss against the Minnesota Wild. Dallas has been even stunningly bad beyond the 60-minute mark, having lost all seven games in that situation.

Here is our best Maple Leafs vs. Stars pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Maple Leafs vs. Stars Pick

Jamie Benn Over 0.5 goals (+310) ★★★★

Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn is rejuvenated at the age of 33, skating with youngsters Wyatt Johnston and Ty Dellandrea at even strength while remaining on the Stars’ top power-play unit.

Benn has scored 10 goals in 26 games this season, registering at least one goal in four of 12 home games. That rate would suggest a two-to-one likelihood of Benn not scoring.

While the Maple Leafs have a solid defensive record, they are also dealing with significant injuries on the blueline, most notably veterans T.J. Brodie and Morgan Rielly.

Since Benn is not playing a featured role in Dallas, he should have an opportunity to feast on matchups against defenders lower on the Toronto depth chart.

When you consider how productive Benn has been this season, the prices for him to score a goal against Toronto are actually quite favorable.

DraftKings comes out with the longest odds at +310 but the rest of the top sportsbooks have a Benn goal priced at +290 or longer. DK continues to impress when it comes to player prop value, though Caesars deserves a mention here as a solid runner-up option.
