Although not nearly as consistent or dynamic, the Maple Leafs are 6-1-3 over their past 10 games, including a 3-2 loss to the Devils on Nov. 17.

The Maple Leafs have yet to play up to the level their roster suggests, but they’re still a solid squad that could rise to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. However, they’re missing Morgan Rielly and T.J. Brodie on the back end, and their vaunted offense hasn’t hit its stride.
New Jersey emerged victorious in the last showdown between these two teams, and I expect more of the same on Wednesday night.

They’ve both received solid goaltending recently, with New Jersey netminder Vitek Vanecek boasting a 2.14 goals-against average, .918 save percentage, and 3.35 goals saved above average. Meanwhile, Matt Murray has been excellent since returning from an injury, posting a sterling .933 save percentage over three starts.
