A huge showdown with the winner gaining control of the Pacific Division with the Ducks owning a game in hand. Grab your best NHL pick here.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Los Angeles Kings
The Anaheim Ducks came from being down 16 points in the Pacific Division to take the lead only to let it slip away to Los Angeles again.  The Ducks showed true heart cranking it up again to make up a six point difference to tie the division up with a game in hand over Los Angeles.  One thing is for sure, who ever wins the Pacific will be battle tested.

With each team being on of the leagues best defensively it's difficult to believe that they would break character tonight. The Ducks are the NHL's best defensive team while allowing 2.32 goals per game while Los Angeles is third at 2.35 goals per contest. In addition to their number one defense Anaheim features the best penalty kill.  With all that it's difficult to back the 'over' especially with the enticement of plus money.

The Ducks have shown that they can have success against the Kings even at the Staples Center where they are 6-0-1 in their last seven meetings while winning 11 of their last 14 regular season meetings.

Anaheim will have Josh Gibson in goal tonight who has been spectacular as of late with a 1.45 goals against average over his last five starts.  His goals against versus the Kings has not been as impressive at 2.20 but still good enough to feel good to back a low scoring game.

We see the public backing the 'over' because the series has either 'pushed' or gone 'over' in every match-up for two seasons but lets not forget that there was 18 penalties and 56 shots on goal between the two teams in the last meeting and still they only managed five goals.

Injuries are starting to mount for the Ducks as David Perron, Rickard Rakell, Brandon Pirri, Kevin Bieska and Frederick Andersen will not dress tonight. Alec Martinez is questionable for Los Angeles after missing the last two games.

The kings power play has been powerless lately converting just 3 of 35 chances since March 12th including an 0-18 streak from March 12th-22nd.

I would be surprised if we didn't see Jonathan Quick's best effort tonight as he is the King with the biggest message to send as he has lost three of his last four meetings against the Ducks.

Betting Analysis
From a NHL odds perspective the Ducks have started a small 'under' trend of 4-1-1 against teams with a winning record.  It tells me that as the season winds down the Ducks are starting to lock it down even more in big games and their 5-2-2 'under' record after allowing two goals or less in their previous games suggest that once the Ducks get in a groove they are consistent with it.  Anaheim getting the lead could be the best thing for your 'under' NHL pick as they will stack four players on the blue line daring Los Angeles to use their speed to penetrate the zone.

This one will be tighter than normal with so much on the line.  @DanaLaneSports
