The Lightning got on the board during the Stanley Cup Final with a win on home ice in Game 3. Can Colorado regain control in Game 4? Read on for our Avalanche-Lightning same-game parlay picks.

After the Avalanche won Game 1 in overtime before dominating Game 2 and winning 7-0, the series shifted to Tampa Bay for Game 3. Home-ice advantage proved paramount for the Lightning, who were able to control most of the game during a 6-2 victory.

Goaltending was the main difference in Game 3, and that’s a key storyline now. Darcy Kuemper hasn’t yet been confirmed as Colorado’s starter, while Andrei Vasilevskiy returned to his top-level form on Monday night.

Here are my same-game parlay picks for Wednesday night’s Avalanche-Lightning Game 4 showdown (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NHL Same Game Parlay Predictions

Avalanche (-115)

DraftKings lists the Avalanche at +100 on the moneyline, but it shifts to -115 for the same-game parlay. Nevertheless, this is still an appealing play.

The score in Game 3 doesn’t show how the contest truly went. Yes, the Lightning were the better team, but the Avalanche registered at least 12 shots in each period, and they were able to maintain pressure for most of the final frame.

Head coach Jared Bednar should have his Colorado squad ready to go after making some adjustments ahead of Game 4. The Avalanche have been able to use their speed against the Lightning, and they should get back to that Wednesday.

Over 5.5 (-115)

The total opened at six goals, but it's surprisingly dropped to 5.5. Even at -125, we’ll take it. There have been seven-plus goals in all three games of the Stanley Cup Final, and that trend will continue.

The Avalanche were able to score two in Game 3 despite Vasilevskiy making some unreal saves. And the Lightning poured it on against Kuemper.

This matchup for the Lightning is similar to their first-round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs. That was a high-scoring series, and this one should continue to be as Tampa Bay faces off against a highly skilled offense.

First period Over 1.5 (-130)

There have been 10 first-period goals through three games in the series, with the Avs outscoring the Bolts 7-3 during the opening frame. Each game has featured three-plus goals in the first period, giving us some leeway with the Over on 1.5.

This also pairs nicely with the Avalanche winning, and even more so with the Over on 5.5. If there are going to be six-plus goals in the game, there will likely be at least two in the first period given how the series has gone so far. Adding this leg brings us up from +230 to +320 for the parlay.

Combined Odds: Avalanche (-115) + Over 5 (-115) + First period Over 1.5 (-130) = +320
