The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to knot the Stanley Cup Final at a game apiece when they storm the Ball Arena in Denver to take on the Colorado Avalanche. Read on for our Lightning-Avalanche same game parlay picks

The Avalanche and Lightning engaged in a scintillating battle in Game 1, with Colorado drawing first blood with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory. Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen collected two points apiece, while Andre Burakovsky scored the overtime winner.

Will the Avalanche snatch a 2-0 series lead? Or can the Lightning head back to the friendly confines of Amalie Arena with the series tied at one?

Here are my same game parlay picks for Saturday’s Game 2 showdown between the Lightning and Avalanche (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NHL Same Game Parlay Predictions

Avalanche (-160)

The Avalanche were clearly the better team in Game 1 despite the final score. Colorado outshot Tampa 38-23 and proved they were the superior squad 5v5, registering a 56.25 Corsi for (CF) percentage, and a 68.52 expected goals for (xGF) percentage. They also received big games from their non-superstar players, with Burakovsky, Artturi Lehkonen, and Valeri Nichushkin each finding the back of the net.

I don’t envision Game 2 unfolding much differently. The Avalanche looked like they were playing at a completely different speed, and the Lightning will need to do something drastic to counteract Colorado’s dizzying pace. I don’t think the Lightning will just roll over, but I expect the Avalanche to head out on the road with a 2-0 series lead.

Over 6.5 Goals (+110)

Conventional wisdom would suggest that both Vasilevskiy and Kuemper will tighten up, and I don’t doubt that. I just don’t expect them to completely contain these two top-tier offenses. Colorado and Tampa combined for 7 goals on Wednesday, and the Avalanche are averaging 4.6 goals per game during the postseason, while the Lightning are averaging 3.1.

Colorado has combined with their opponents to score 6-plus goals 10 times in 15 playoff games, while Tampa has done it eight times in 18 games.

We’ll likely see a similar outcome to Game 1, with the Avalanche notching a 4-3 win.

MacKinnon to score (+125)

MacKinnon absolutely ran wild when he was on the ice in Game 1, registering a ridiculous 75 CF%, 87.68 xGF%, and 75 scoring chances for (SCF) percentage in all situations.

Despite this dominance, he wasn’t able to light the lamp. That’ll change on Saturday. If MacKinnon keeps ragdolling Lightning defenders, it’s only a matter of time before he finds the back of the net.

Back him to score in Game 2.

Combined Odds: Avalance (-160) + Over 6.5 (+110) + MacKinnon to score (+125) = +425
