The Seattle Kraken’s five-game road trip comes to an end in a dance with the Devils in New Jersey. Jack Hughes and the Devils look to build off Friday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Devils host the Kraken for their first-ever matchup Tuesday night. It’s just the second game for New Jersey (1-0 straight up, 1-0 Over/Under) while Seattle (1-2-1 SU, 3-1 O/U) closes out a five-game road trip.

The Kraken are coming off a 6-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Monday.

Here are my picks and predictions for Tuesday’s NHL matchup between the Kraken and Devils. (Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook)

Kraken vs. Devils Predictions

Devils (-155)

This game shouldn’t be close. The Devils had three days off after their season-opening win on Friday night. They’re rested and in high spirits. On the other hand, the Kraken just got blown out, 6-1, by their head coach’s old team on Monday night.

The Devils took down the Blackhawks in a game they never trailed on Friday. They led 1-0 and then 3-1 before Chicago scored twice in the final four minutes to force overtime. The Devils prevailed in the extra session and outshot the Blackhawks 29-27 in the game.

The Kraken squeaked out a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators in their second game in franchise history, but they've scored just two goals in two games since. They lost 2-1 in overtime to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday and are on the second half of a back-to-back after losing 6-1 to the Flyers. Seattle was outshot 25-20 and 27-24 in those games.

The Devils should take this one easily. Consider a play on the puck line or three-way line as well.

Under 5.5 (+100)

As stated above, the Kraken have scored just two goals in their last two games. They’re on the second half of a back-to-back set and it’s their third game in four nights. Seattle isn’t going to provide much offense.

The Devils scored four goals in their only game thus far, three of which came in regulation. These teams should have a hard time getting to six goals.

Devils Over 3.5 Goals (+140)

This isn’t a Devils team that will score four or more goals very often, but they should be able to against the Kraken. Seattle just gave up six goals on Monday night. They also gave up four to the Vegas Golden Knights in their season opener.

The Devils can’t match the star power of Vegas just yet, but Hughes and Nico Hischier are trying to get there. They’ll keep the foot on the gas against a fatigued Kraken team.
