Never count your wins until they happen but after the Winnipeg Jets overcame a three-goal deficit in game three and then continued to pound the Nashville Predators for four more goals to take game three, I’m feeling pretty good about my backing of the Jets in this round. Let’s see if the ticket gets closer to cashing tonight when the Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets face-off at the Bell MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba for game four. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 ET/6:30 PT and can be seen on the NBC Sports Network, CBC (Canadian), and TVAS (French).

According to the SBR odds page the opening number came with the Jets being the expected home favorite of -130. I suggest betting this game now if you’re going to join me because I expect everyone to be on Winnipeg, including the “sharp” money that usually looks for an underdog. Depending on your book it may be too late to get a line close to the opener. For instance, YouWager, who offers a 20 cent line, has the Jets at -145. Still not out of my comfort zone to bet it may be at game-time if this number creeps over -150. We talked about this on the ‘Ice Guys Show’ on Monday; there is no reason to go against a Jets team that has won 82% of their home games over a span of 51 games (42-9). Sometimes you don’t need to overthink things.

The ‘Over’ has cashed tickets in 6 of the last 8 meetings in the series, so it wasn’t a surprise that the opening offering was 6, as it was in game 3, the surprise came from the odds-makers allowing the public to get -105 each way. I know I’ve talked about this forever but how don’t you make this number at least -115, over? They scored 20 goals in their last two games and six of their last seven games against quality opponents have easily gone over the number. Not to worry, the public made the adjustment for them and now they have liability. The best number now can be found at BetOnline, -106 (over). YouWager is making its players lay -120 to get the ‘over’.

Give Winnipeg Jets Head Coach a lot of credit. He had the foresight to move lines around that seemed to spark the Jets offensively. Nikolaj Ehlers was promoted to the top line with Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele in an effort to help him find an offensive spark. Kyle Connor

moved down to the second line with Paul Stastny and Patrik Laine. That small adjustment seemed to be the right one although neither found their way to the scoresheet. What they did do is create offensive chances with their new shot of adrenaline.

Winnipeg will continue to build on their fresh offensive, not that they need any more help, and take a 3-1 lead in the series heading back to Nashville.
