NCAA Basketball: Ball State vs. Kent State 7:00 ET
Kent State lost leading scorer and rebounder Jimmy Hall at the end of January yet in still just a game out of first place in the MAC East race. Honestly, the Golden Flashes are not the same team without Hall and they are 2-3 SU and ATS since his departure. This is probably has what has influenced those making sports picks to lower Kent State from -10 to -8. This is no automatic play as Ball State is 2-10 and 4-8 ATS in MAC action and despite a 6-5 ATS mark on the road (1-10 SU) they are losing by 7.8 points a contest. The spread range of 8 to 10 points looks accurate and is certainly no easy choice.
NCAA Basketball Pick: Slight lean Kent State -8 at BookMaker
NCAA Basketball: Buffalo vs. Eastern Michigan 7:00 ET
This MAC confrontation looks very evenly matched according to sportsbooks and it would hard to find many college basketball handicappers who would disagree. However, the wagering public has also weighed in and they have shifted Buffalo from +1.5 to -1. No doubt the Bulls are the better offensive team (+4.5 differential) and they have played a more challenging schedule. Yet, I look at Eastern Michigan and while early in the season they got fat on cupcake opponents in help building a 14-1 home record (6-4 ATS), they are 5-0 in league play (four straight covers) at Ypsilanti. Buffalo has covered one of their last nine outings and will not here either.

NCAA Basketball: Boise State vs. UNLV 11:00 ET CBSSN
After winning and covering eight straight, Boise State fell at Fresno State 70-64 as three-point favorite. Evidently that has taken a little shine off the Broncos saddle and they have slipped from -1 to +1 in Sin City. Both Boise State and UNLV have suffered personnel losses since the Broncos won at home 82-73 back on Jan. 13th. The Runnin’ Rebels have not lost to Boise State in four home games (2-2 ATS) and are 4-2 and 5-1 ATS in last six. UNLV has the better defensive team which is likely enough to be the difference, earning our NCAA Basketball pick.
NCAA Basketball Pick: Lean UNLV
NHL: Detroit Red Wings vs. Chicago Blackhawks 7:35 ET NBCSN
The Red Wings figured the return of goalie Jimmy Howard would add confidence and victories. Instead the opposite has occurred as Detroit has lost all three of Howard’s starts. After terrible defensive showing in the first two contests of their eight-game homestand, Chicago has surrender just one goal each in their last two wins to even up the homestand at 2-2. The NHL odds are now even favoring the Blackhawks more, up 15 cents to -180. Chicago has taken six of the past seven at the United Center over Detroit and appears poised to do so again.
NHL Pick: Chicago wins
NHL: Minnesota Wild vs. Calgary Flames 9:35 ET FS-N, SN1
Calgary has won 11 of 15 after a remarkable comeback in defeating Boston on home ice Monday. Of the Flames 32 victories this season, 10 have come when trailing after two periods, the best in the league. Minnesota is four points behind Calgary in the Western Conference standings and is looking to recover from its first regulation setback in 11 games (8-0-2) at Vancouver two nights ago. One of the OT losses for the Wild was 20 days ago at this same location and those placing NHL picks have Minnesota in revenge mode, moving them from +105 underdogs to -120 money line favorites. While this could happen, still like the Flames to light the lamp for frequently, especially with Minnesota 9-29 away versus teams with winning records.
NHL Pick: Calgary wins
