The NHL will fax Vegas Golden Knights General Manager, George McPhee, the list of protected players by 10:00 am ET Saturday and our handicapper has a mock draft.

The rest of the world will have to wait until it’s made public on Sunday (4/19). This will be around 47 mock drafts that I’ve done but it will give bettors some insight on which teams may be a little weaker as we make our future bets.

Anaheim Ducks: Right Wing Jakob Silfverberg (26) Cap Hit: $3,750,000 UFA 2019

This is how it sits now but there is speculation that the Ducks and Knights are going to strike a deal that would allow the Ducks to keep Josh Manson. The Ducks would send players or picks in exchange for not taking Manson. Knights go for offense.

Arizona Coyotes: Goaltender Louis Dominque (25) Cap Hit: $1,050,000 RFA 2018

Boston Bruins: Defensemen Adam McQuaid (30) Cap Hit: $2,750,000 UFA 2019

Buffalo Sabres: Goaltender Linus Ullmark (23) Cap Hit: $775,000 RFA 2018

Calgary Flames: Center Lance Bouma (27) Cap Hit: $2,200,000 UFA 2018

Carolina Hurricanes: Left Wing Joakim Nordstrom (25) Cap Hit: $1,275,000 RFA 2018

It’s been confirmed that General Manager Ron Francis has spoken to George McPhee to see if a deal could be made. The Hurricanes will have 10 total draft selections.

Chicago Blackhawks: Defensemen Trevor Van Riemsdyk (25) Cap Hit: $825,000 RFA 2018

Marcus Kruger is reported to come with this deal. If Vegas wants Van Riemsdyk then they will have to take on Marcus Kruger as well otherwise the Blackhawks have threatened to trade Van Riemsdyk while protecting Kruger leaving Vegas with next to nothing to pick from. If Chicago doesn’t make a public move by Saturday (3/17) at 3:00 ET, then you know a deal is in place with Vegas.

Colorado Avalanche: Goaltender Calvin Pickard (25) Cap Hit: $1,000,000 RFA 2018

Columbus Blue Jackets: Defensemen Jack Johnson (30) Cap Hit: $4,357,143 UFA 2018

Heavy rumor is the Knights would take on David Clarkson’s contract who makes $5,250,000 but is currently out of the league. The Jackets would also send a prospect and their 24th overall selection. Too big of a price for a low 1st rounder but I would take Johnson who will give the Knights a veteran defenseman who will help the Knights get to the cap floor.

Dallas Stars: Left Wing Curtis McKenzie(26) Cap Hit: $700,000 UFA 2018

This might change if Valeri Nichuskin decides to return from the KHL, and if he does, do the Stars protect him or leave him available to the Golden Knights

Detroit Red Wings: Center Darren Helm (30) Cap Hit: $3,850,000 UFA 2021

Edmonton Oilers: Left Wing Benoit Pouliot (30) Cap Hit: $4,000,000 UFA 2019

GM Peter Chiarelli might give Vegas draft pick to take Pouliot and his contract.

Florida Panthers: Center Colton Sceviour(28) Cap Hit: $950,000 UFA 2018

Los Angeles Kings: Center Nic Dowd (27) Cap Hit: $640,000 UFA 2018

Minnesota Wild: Defensemen Jonas Brodin (23) Cap Hit: $4,166,667 UFA 2021

The Wild have said that they don’t have a deal in place to dictate who Vegas selects but there has been plenty of chatter about Brodin being traded to the Boston Bruins. Until that happens we’ll stick with Brodin.

Montreal Canadiens: Defensemen Brandon Davidson (325) Cap Hit: $1,425,000 UFA 2018

No way, the Knights take on Alexander Radulov’s contract

Nashville Predators: Defensemen Matt Irwin (29) Cap Hit: $650,000 UFA 2018

It’s been confirmed the Nashville GM David Poile has contacted George McPhee in an effort to protect more players

New Jersey Devils: Right Wing Devante Smith-Pelly (25) Cap Hit: $1,300,000 RFA 2018

New York Islanders: Defensemen Thomas Hickey (28) Cap Hit: $2,200,000 UFA 2018

New York Rangers: Defensemen Nick Holden (30) Cap Hit: $1,650.000 UFA 2018

Ottawa Senators: Center Zach Smith (29) Cap Hit: $3,250,000 RFA 2021

Philadelphia Flyers: Right Winger Dale Weise (28) Cap Hit: $2,350,000 UFA 2020

Pittsburgh Penguins: Left Winger Scott Wilson (25) Cap Hit: $625,000 RFA 2018

Reports today (6/15) that Marc-Andre Fleury will be picked by the Knights and will not be flipped. I’ll believe it when I see it. Fleury makes $5,750,000 making him a potential liability. It’s not easy to just flip players making that amount of money especially if he doesn’t play well in Vegas.

San Jose Sharks: Defensemen David Schlemko(30) Cap Hit: $2,100,000 UFA 2020

St. Louis Blues: Right Wing Dmitrij Jaskin (24) Cap Hit: $1,000,000 RFA 2018

Tampa Bay Lightning: Center Vladislav Namestnikov (24) Cap Hit: $1,937,500 RFA 2018

Toronto Maple Leafs: Center Eric Fehr (31) Cap Hit: $2,000,000 UFA 2018

Vancouver Canucks: Center Jayson Megna (27) Cap Hit: $675,000 UFA 2018

Washington Capitals: Right Wing Jay Beagle (31) Cap Hit: $1,750,000 UFA 2018

Winnipeg Jets: Goaltender Michael Hutchinson (27) Cap Hit: $1,150,000 UFA 2018

Total: $49,163,810
