Let’s take a break from our scorching-hot NHL Plays of the Day to give you a heads up on some teams that are good betting options this upcoming week.

Here are the teams that are trending upward and might be worth a follow over the next seven days. All statistics as of March 16.

Nashville Predators (46-14-10, 102 pts, +52)

Streak: 7-0-1, +11 Up next: 3/16 at Colorado, 3/19 @Buffalo, 3/22 vs Toronto

The Predators got some bad news Thursday when Calle Jarnkrok was ruled out for the rest of the regular season after suffering an upper-body injury against the Winnipeg Jets. The Predators will be without their 8th-leading scorer, who has tied a career high with 16 goals and already a career high with 35 points. I’m not as high on the Predators as some of my colleagues, due to the fact that I think they still give up too many quality chances. Nashville has won 50 of their last 69 games against the Western Conference and 20-8 against teams with a winning record, though.

Florida Panthers (35-26-7, 77 pts, -4)

Streak: 6-1-1, + 12 Up Next: 3/17 vs Edmonton, 3/19 at Montreal, 3/20 at Ottawa

Three winnable games coming up after the Panthers got a huge win over the depleted Boston Bruins on Thursday night. Not in my top 10 yet but may get there if they take care of business this week. Their top six, led by their second line center Vincent Trocheck (8 pts in past 5 games), has come alive. I see some puck-line potential this week.

Columbus Blue Jackets (38-28-5, 81 pts, Even)

Streak: 6-2-0, +7 Up next: 3/17 vs Ottawa, 3/19 at Boston, 3/20 at New York Rangers

The Jackets are back after going to Philadelphia and taking apart the Flyers to tie Philly for the third playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division. I’ve thought for the better part of the season that Columbus will give the Eastern Conference all they can handle in the postseason. Columbus should be a good puck-line bet this week.

Boston Bruins (44-17-8, 96 pts, +52)

Streak: 6-2-0, +7 Up Next: 3/17 at Tampa Bay, 3/19 vs Columbus, 3/21 at St. Louis

The Bruins continue to impress despite all their injuries. They took it on the chin Thursday against Florida, but that’s a momentary setback. A showdown with Columbus should be a game where we all sit back with a pen and paper in hand because that matchup this week will tell us a lot, especially from the Jackets’ point of view.

Arizona Coyotes (23-36-11, 57 pts, -53)

Streak: 5-2-1, Even Up next: 3/17 vs Minnesota, 3/19 vs Calgary, 3/21 at Buffalo

The Coyotes have not quit for the rights to better their chances to get Rasmus Dahlin in the 2018 draft. They likely will be a dog in at least two of the next three games at a decent plus price and might even be a slight favorite against Buffalo. This is a good time get on board with the Coyotes, who have given up just 20 goals in their last eight games. Arizona is my top moneyline recommendation for the upcoming week.

So, there’s a good head start on your handicapping for the upcoming week but remember don’t ever play a game that requires you to lay more than -150. If you find yourself in that position, then you must look toward the puck-line as your only option.
