Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers is set for Saturday. It’s a critical contest in the series, and Sportsbook Review betting analyst Neil Parker shares his Golden Knights vs. Panthers Game 4 picks and predictions based on the latest NHL odds.

The Florida Panthers pulled it off, and we’ve got ourselves a series.

Cats wingers Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe came up clutch again, and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky returned to form and improve his Conn Smythe Trophy odds once again.

While the Vegas Golden Knights were unable to protect their late lead in Game 3, they’re still in an advantageous spot and remain short betting favorites to win it all, according to the Stanley Cup odds.

The question when making your NHL picks is, do the Panthers leave town with the series knotted up, or will the Golden Knights strut home with a massive 3-1 lead?

I’m anticipating another tight, low-scoring game, and it might just take another OT winner before the sun goes down in Sunrise.

Here is our best Golden Knights vs. Panthers Game 4 pick for Saturday (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

I’m hooking my wagon to the Under for two reasons.

First, there has been an average of just 43:25 of five-on-five ice time per game, and the Golden Knights have been uncharacteristically undisciplined with an average of 7:17 of shorthanded ice time per game during the series.

Avoiding the penalty box has been a calling card for Vegas, so I expect the team to clean it up in Game 4 and throughout the remainder of the final.

Turning to Florida, there’s positive regression ahead of its 64.7 penalty-kill percentage, and it’s also unlikely the team will continue averaging 8:43 of shorthanded time per game.

Secondly, Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky looked more brick wall than Swiss cheese in Game 3 with a .926 SV%. The numbers weren’t as impressive for Vegas No. 1 Adin Hill, but Florida also only registered 23 shots, including 13 through the first two periods.

Sound defense and elite goaltending paved the way to the Stanley Cup Final for both Florida and Vegas, and I’m expecting both teams to lean on their strengths and their Game 3 blueprints featuring improved defense to continue into Game 4 on Saturday.

Plus, the Golden Knights still have statistical correction ahead of their postseason-high 12.7 team shooting percentage (15.7% during the finals).

When it’s all said and done, I expect fewer power plays, more saves, and even tidier defense now that Vegas and Florida have become better acquainted over the past three games.

My preference is the line of 6 total goals because I’m obviously anticipating a tight, low-scoring game and 6 becomes a push in a 4-2 final. More specifically, I’m alright with a late goal sending the game to overtime at 3-3 and losing the bet, but I’m not alright with an empty-net goal making it a 4-2 final and costing me the Under on the 5.5 total.

Your mileage may vary, and it also might prove irrelevant. Thankfully, our best live betting sites offer both options.

We're strongly fading the public with this pick since the Over is drawing 71% of the betting action.
