The Capitals don't need overtime to beat the Hurricanes again and take a 3-0 series lead.

The problem though is that the Capitals have played better and are a better team. The Canes gave it all they could in Game 2, forcing overtime before eventually losing 4-3 to the Caps and falling behind by two games in the series.

Now the series shifts back to Carolina, where they will be playing playoff hockey for the first time in ten years. PNC Arena will be rocking and the Hurricanes will look to feed off the home crowd, but there will be no surge back into the series as the Capitals win again, this time in regulation, and take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the series. The read here is that the frustration from Game 2 and the realization that their opponent is simply better than them will set in if and when the Capitals score first in Game 3 and will be too much to overcome.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

#ALLCAPS Invasion ;/a>
— Washington Capitals (@Capitals) April 15, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

The Capitals are 2-0 against the spread and 0-0 on the road.
