There’s just over a week left in the NHL regular season. Let’s crunch the numbers on Friday night and see where the value is on the NHL odds.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Detroit Red Wings

I’m going to keep riding some Sabres unders as they can’t seem to score at all these days. On Thursday, they were shut out by the St. Louis Blues, which means that they’ve tallied just 18 goals in their last 14 games.

Four straight meetings in this series have gone under and we are expecting the same result with our NHL picks Friday night.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bodog

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
Neither team is playing particularly inspiring hockey right now but after watching the Chicago Blackhawks need a shootout to defeat the Minnesota Wild at home on Thursday night, I have a hard to laying juice with them on the NHL odds on Friday. The Blackhawks, who are without Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, have lost four of six overall. They’ve also lost five straight on the road while scoring just six goals in the process. I’ll take a shot with the Blue Jackets as a home dog in this spot.

NHL Pick: Blue Jackets +104 at SBOBet

Calgary Flames vs. Florida Panthers
The Flames are always a shaky bet on the road but they have a very manageable contest on Friday. They’re in Florida, who has absolutely packed it in for the season. The Panthers have now lost four straight and seven of eight. Their lack of competitiveness is evident as they’ve been outscored 29-9 in those seven losses.

Calgary is 10-8 in their last 18 versus teams with a losing record, which is impressive considering the Flames have one of the lowest point totals in the league. They’ve played well recently (16-11-0 in last 27) and are looking to finish up strong to springboard to a good start in 2014. Take them in this spot.

NHL Pick: Flames +116 at Pinnacle
