Friday presents us with a small card as there are just five games on the ice. We’ve got picks on three of them, so read on to find our reasoning for them below:

New York Islanders vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins continue to play unders, which is why we’re going to expect the same theme on Friday night. They’ve now played six unders in a row and with a total of 5.5, we’ll look to cash in one more one time.

Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is fourth in GAA this season (1.90) and he’s posted a 1.25 GAA in his last four against the Islanders. The Pens have only allowed 21 goals in their last 12 home games. Take the under with your NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at Pinnacle

Montreal Canadiens vs. Washington Capitals

The Canadiens have lost six of nine, which makes it tough for me to add them to my sports picks. On top of that, the Caps are actually playing pretty well these days with a record of 7-2-1 in their last 10.

The Caps are coming off a tough 4-0 home loss to Pittsburgh and they’ve been talking about how much they want to bounce back from that. They should have a good opportunity on Friday.

The price on Washington keeps dropping. At -110, it’s a great investment considering they are 8-4-0 at home this season.

NHL Pick: Caps -110 at Bookmaker

Florida Panthers vs. Calgary Flames

Laying -150 with the Flames on the NHL odds? No thank you. After all, we’re talking about a team that’s dropped seven of their last eight games. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers have won three of four, which includes road wins in Colorado and in Vancouver. Who in their right mind lays -150 with the Flames in this spot?

I know that Florida is one of the worst teams in the NHL but so is Calgary. That means I’ll take the team that’s playing better in this spot.

NHL Pick: Panthers +138 at Pinnacle
