Our NHL consultant will share his three best totals selections for Tuesday. His selections come in the games between Colorado/Nashville, Dallas/Winnipeg, and Florida/Chicago.
Colorado Avalanche vs. Nashville Predators 8:05 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche enters tonight having scored three goals or more in six of their last seven games. During that stretch only one of those contests stayed under the total. Colorado has seen just one of their previous nine games in Nashville go under the number.
The Nashville Predators are coming off a 2-1 overtime shootout win at Buffalo on Sunday. Nashville has gone under the total in just five of their previous twenty games (25%) following a win. The Predators have also scored three goals or more in each of their previous five games at home.
I like this one to be a high scoring affair, and one of my NHL picks for Tuesday will be indicative of just that.

Dallas Stars vs. Winnipeg Jets 8:05 PM ET
The Dallas Stars have been involved in some high scoring offensive shootouts of late. The Stars have seen each of their previous three games go over the NHL odds total, and there was an average of 8.7 goals combined scored per contest. Dallas being involved in high scoring games shouldn’t be much of a surprise to any NHL follower. They’ve averaged 3.1 goals per game this season which ranks third in the NHL. However, they’ve also allowed 3.3 goals per contest which is just 28th best. Only Edmonton and Buffalo has allowed more goals this season than Dallas.
The Winnipeg Jets have seen seven of their previous eight home games versus Dallas go over the total. The Jets are averaging a robust 3.0 goals per game at home this season. During their last sixteen games versus opponents with a less than .500 winning percentage, Winnipeg has gone under the total just three times.
Free NHL Pick: Play on Dallas & Winnipeg to go over the total of 5.5 at Pinnacle.
Florida Panthers vs. Chicago Blackhawks 8:35 PM ET
The Florida Panthers have scored one goal or less in five of their previous seven games. Roberto Luongo is expected to be between the pipes tonight for Florida, and he’s been sharp in his last four starts, posting a stellar .936 save percentage.
The Chicago Blackhawks have gone over the total in only six of their previous thirty-one games versus Eastern Conference opponents, and that includes just one of the last seven versus Florida. Scott Darling will get the start in goal tonight for Chicago after just being recalled from the minors. Darling has started seven games for Chicago this season, compiling a sparkling .937 save percentage, and just one of those contests went over the total.
Free NHL Pick: Play on Florida & Chicago to go under the total of 5.0 at Bovada.
