After a quiet, two-game night on Wednesday, the NHL returns with a full slate on Thursday. Here’s a look at our three best NHL betting picks from the 10-game card.

San Jose Sharks vs. Minnesota Wild
NHL Odds: Wild -145
The Sharks and Wild should be heading for an under on Thursday even though the Wild’s goaltenders have struggled recently. The Wild have allowed seven goals in their last two games but those were on the road. Prior to that, the Wild had allowed just six goals in six games.

As for the Sharks, we should see Antti Niemi in net. He’s 8-3-1 lifetime against the Wild with a 1.83 GAA. It’s a low total in this one but we should see minimal scoring. Go under with your NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at 5Dimes

Anaheim Ducks vs. St. Louis Blues
NHL Odds: Blues -124
We see a total of 5.5 for the Ducks and Blues contest, and that might be a tad high if Brian Elliott is between the pipes. So far this season, Elliott has an impressive 1.98 GAA and a .917 save percentage. More importantly for bettors, five of his six starts have seen five goals or less.

As for the Anaheim Ducks, they’ve been very solid between the pipes. Aside from allowing four goals to San Jose last Sunday, they’ve allowed one or less in five straight. This should be a low-scoring affair between two teams that are playing pretty well on defense.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at The Greek

New York Islanders vs. Colorado Avalanche
NHL Odds: Avalanche -120
It’s hard to rock with the Colorado Avalanche as they just aren’t winning many games these days. They seem to be getting closer and closer as their last three losses have come in extra time but that doesn’t help you if you’re a bettor. On the year, they’ve still dropped eight of 10. They’ve allowed at least three goals in six of their last seven games.

The Isles have been very competent – even on the road. They already have road wins at the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. Although they’re a dicey bet away from home, this looks like one place to take a shot with them.
