Sunday is a quiet day in the NHL with just six games on the card. We’ve got four of the games covered for you with an individual feature on the Montreal Canadiens-Detroit Red Wings game and three other previews and NHL picks below.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild
NHL odds: Wild -165
The Minnesota Wild are a huge favorite on Sunday afternoon when the host the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets will be wrapping up their five-game road trip in Minnesota and not only playing in a back-to-back situation (after playing on Saturday night in Nashville) but also playing their third game in four nights.

The Wild have won two straight but that’s on the heels of a four-game losing streak. Their offense has gone cold as they scored six goals against Buffalo on Thursday but other than that, have scored just five goals in their last five games.

I’ll go under the number in this one as the Jets have gone over five goals just once in their last nine games while the Wild have topped it just once in their last seven.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at The Greek

San Jose Sharks vs. Carolina Hurricanes
NHL odds: Sharks -145
This is a tricky matchup as both teams have dropped three of four. The Sharks are a fairly sizable favorite on the NHL odds here but they’ve actually last their last four meetings with the Hurricanes. The challenge for the Sharks is they’re still playing a ton of road games as Sunday will now be up to 13 (out of 20 games) and played on Saturday night. They are running out of gas as evidenced by the fact that they’ve scored just six goals in their last four games. The Hurricanes aren’t far off either as they’ve scored six in their last three.

For your NHL picks the under is the play that makes sense here is neither team is strong offensively and neither side is lighting it up.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog

Arizona Coyotes vs. Edmonton Oilers
NHL odds: Oilers -130
The Coyotes enter Sunday’s meeting with Edmonton having lost three of their last four games but the good news is the win came in their latest outing. They thumped the Vancouver Canucks 5-0 on Friday, which should give them some confidence heading into this matchup. There’s a good chance they keep their momentum rolling against an Oilers team that’s again in a slump.

Edmonton has lost two straight and six of their last eight games. There was one week in October when they had a brief, shining light with a four-game winning streak but other than that, this team has lost 11 of their other 13 games. Even so, the oddsmakers still want you to lay -130 with them on Sunday.

Edmonton hasn’t had much success against the Coyotes and goaltender Mike Smith in particular. Smith is 9-0-1 with a 2.46 GAA in his last 11 against the Oilers. The Coyotes are 8-0-1 in their last nine games against the Oilers. Take a shot with the Coyotes here. The price is good and they’re the better team.

NHL Pick: Coyotes +109 at Pinnacle
