The Monday NHL card offers us seven games! Our trusty handicapper had narrowed down his picks to three games that he believes can land us some cash.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Boston Bruins

The Bruins enter this afternoon’s contest in a bit of a funk having lost 4 of their last 6 overall. They will be facing a Kings team that’s been playing with renewed confidence since start goaltender Jonathan Quick has returned from the injured list. The Bruins get a lot of accolades for their stellar defensive play and rightfully so. However, the Kings are currently the best in the NHL allowing a paltry 2.0 goals per game. The Kings have gone a very profitable 9-2 on the road this season following a non-conference game.

NHL Betting System

Any road team that’s between -100 to -150 on the money line, that’s playing in the 2nd half of the season, in addition to playing their 3rd road game in the last 5-days, and they have a money line winning percentage of between .510 to .600 on the year, has gone 99-49 (66.9%) since the beginning of the 1996-1997 season.

NHL Pick: Kings -105 over the Bruins

St. Louis Blues vs. Detroit Red Wings

The Blues enter tonight having lost their last 2-games, and that’s just the 3rd time in which that’s occurred this season. St. Louis has yet to endure a 3-game losing streak in the 2013-2014 campaign. The good news is that they’ve won 4 of their last 5 road games. The Red Wings come off a 3-2 home wing over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. However the win was just their 2nd in their last 8 at home.

NHL Betting System

Any road team that’s between -100 to 150 on the NHL odds that’s playing in the 2nd half of the season, which has gone under the total in their last 4 or more games, and they average 3.0 or more goals per game, has gone 45-14 (76.3%) since the beginning of the 1996-1997 season. Ironically both of those two previous los came at home where they were virtually unbeatable leading up to that point.

NHL Pick: Blues -140 over the Red Wings

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Phoenix Coyotes

Both of these clubs have been playing on the high side in recent games, which would lead you to believe an under selection would be a bit risky. However, it’s quite the contrary in my eyes. The Coyotes enter tonight coming off home wins in their previous 2-games, and NHL history has shown at this time of the year the tendency has been for the home team to play on the low side in the following game. Phoenix will also be out to avenge a loss at Toronto earlier this season. They’ve seen 28 of their 41-games go under the total in the last 3 seasons when playing with same season revenge.

NHL Betting System

Any home team with a total of 5.5 that’s playing in the month of January, and is coming off 2 or more home wins in a row, has seen 71 of those 105-games (67.6%) go under the total since the beginning of the 1996-1997 year. This affair to go under the total of 5.5 for our free NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Maple Leafs/Coyotes to go under the total of 5.5
