It’ll be an action-packed night on the ice on Friday with a total of eight games on the card. While most of the focus will be on the Tampa Bay-Pittsburgh showdown, we’ve got our eyes locked on three other NHL betting lines from Friday’s menu:

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Minnesota Wild
NHL Odds: Wild -150
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild have both been struggling, but the Wild have had the bigger issues and there’s a heck of a lot of juice to lay with them all things considered. That being the case, we’ll look at the over in this one.

The Wild have lost six of their last seven games and can’t seem to keep their opponents from scoring. They gave up 3.58 goals per game in December, which was the second-worst number in the NHL. Meanwhile, the Leafs are having similar problems and finished December 6th in that same category with 3.00 goals per game. That being the case, go over with your NHL picks in this one.

New York Islanders vs.  Calgary Flames
NHL Odds:: Flames -110
The New York Islanders have been playing a bunch of high scoring games recently as they finished the month of December both ninth in goals scored and goals allowed per game. For the month, their games averaged 5.85 goals per game. The Isles have scored 3 or more goals in four of their last five games and usually when their offense is hot, they get play overs. The over is 10-3 this season after scoring 4 goals or more in their previous game.

The Calgary Flames have got back on track and have won four straight after their eight-game losing streak. One of the main differences is their offense, which has scored 14 goals in their last four compared to just 13 during their eight losses. With their offense rolling right now, we should see enough goals to get us over the number. The last two meetings between the teams have gone over and we should see the same here.

Florida Panthers vs. Buffalo Sabres
NHL Odds: Panthers -140
This could very well turn out to be a bad idea, but I like the Sabres in this spot. The Panthers, who have just two more wins than Buffalo on the season, are a sizable road favorite here and the price does not seem right. The Sabres are again struggling having lost six of their last seven, but they have been a decent home team this year. They are 10-9-2 at home. Meanwhile, the Panthers are just 7-5-6 on the road and they lost in Buffalo just a few weeks ago.

There’s a very good chance the Panthers win this game as they’ve won four of five in Buffalo and seven of 10 in this series, but laying this type of juice on the road when the home team seems to have the advantage doesn’t make a ton of sense. I’m willing to take a flier on Buffalo.
