The Panthers and Rangers collide Monday Night, all while each side looks to get back into the win column. Find out what NHL odds are trading and where the value NHL picks are to be had.

Florida Panthers (40-23-9)
The Florida Panthers are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings at home on Saturday night. Tonight they’ll be looking to bounce back on the road when they take on the NY Rangers and while they enter the clash as the road underdogs they aren’t priced out of the market in such a way to suggest the road win is improbable. On the contrary, they are trading as the nominal road underdogs, anywhere from +114 (Bookmaker) to +125 (Pinnacle). Can the Panthers defy the NHL odds and claim a win at Madison Square Garden at the expense of the Rangers?

On the heels of the loss to the Red Wings, the Panthers slip to a 5-4-1 record. The loss snaps a two-game winning streak, which includes wins over Montreal and Toronto, both on the road. In their last six games, they are a healthy 4-2 SU with wins over Ottawa and Philadelphia over and above the aforementioned pair. The only other loss in recent weeks was a 3-2 loss to the NY islanders on the away.

Overall, the Panthers are enjoying a banner season. Riding high atop the Atlantic division with a 40-23-9 mark and 89 points they are two points ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the table and three points clear of the Boston Bruins. There’s still all to play for as the season winds down though.

On their travels, the Panthers boast an 18-13-4 mark. Clearly, home form (22-10-5) is much better than their road form and that is nowhere more so evident than in recent weeks where they are 3-3 SU on their travels.

NY Rangers (40-24-8)
The NY Rangers have slipped behind back-to-back losses into third place in the Central division, level on points with Pittsburgh (up to second now behind a stellar six-game winning streak) and a whopping 19-points behind Washington Capitals. Indeed, nobody is catching up to the Capitals, but the Rangers will be concerned about losing ground to the Penguins and the potential threat the NY Islanders pose just three points adrift.

The Rangers are coming off a tough road trip to California with dates against the Ducks, Kings and Sharks. Although they upset the Ducks at home in a 2-1 win, they lost back-to-back games to latter pair – a 4-3 overtime loss in Los Angeles and a 4-1 loss in San Jose. The upshot of which they are 4-4-2 in their last ten games

The Rangers will be desperate to get back into the win column tonight, but the task against the Panthers isn’t going to be straightforward even though they are the clear-cut home faves on the NHL odds boards are trading anywhere from -135 to -137 depending on your sportsbook of choice.

Underlining their favourable NHL odds is solid home form on the season; the Rangers boast a 23-8-3 mark at home. In their last ten home games they are 6-4 SU, however, they lost the last two home games against their main divisional rivals: 6-4 to the Islanders and 5-3 to the Penguins.

NHL Betting Verdict
A recent dip in form does take the shine off the Rangers somewhat, but there’s a case to be had about the toughness of the schedule with seven road games in their last ten. Importantly, home form has been sublime and it’s something the Rangers and their backers will bank on tonight. That said the Panthers are no pushovers and could give the hosts a run for their money, which does deal contrarian value on your NHL picks. For our money, we’re backing the hosts on our NHL picks to bounce back into winning form.
