It’s going to be an interesting day for NHL picks on Sunday with four games on the card and one of them being an early start & the other three featuring a favorite of -225 or higher.

Dallas Stars vs. Chicago Blackhawks

NHL Odds: Blackhawks -255

The Chicago Blackhawks have alternated wins and losses for seven straight games with costly losses to Winnipeg (at home), Edmonton, Colorado (at home) and Washington. However, they shouldn’t have much problem getting back on track on Sunday against a slumping Stars team that is in the midst of a back-to-back and playing their third game in four nights. The Blackhawks feast on the Stars, winning nine of the last 10 meetings overall. However, with the crazy juice here combined with the Blackhawks unreliability, we’re going to look at the total instead.

Four straight meetings between the sides in Chicago have gone over as have seven of the last 10 meetings overall. Seven of the last 10 Blackhawks games overall have also gone over as they haven’t had much consistency between the pipes. That should give Dallas the opportunity to contribute while Chicago rarely has problems scoring on the Stars. They’ve tallied 34 goals in the last eight meetings (4.25 per game). Arizona Coyotes vs. Winnipeg Jets

NHL Odds: Jets -225

Winnipeg’s current franchise hosts their former franchise on Sunday as the Jets are laying a huge number for the Coyotes’ visit. It’s pretty clear why as the Coyotes are a hot mess, losing five of six while scoring just five goals in the losses. However, their one win in that stretch was against Winnipeg, so that’s a concern if you’re thinking about laying the -225.

Over seems to make the most sense as the Jets offense has been firing on all cylinders of late. They’ve scored 23 goals in their last five games and should be able to do some work against a Coyotes team that’s allowed 31 in their last eight games. Go over the number in this one.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Detroit Red Wings

NHL Odds: Red Wings -330

Given how the Sabres offense has been playing of late, under might be the first thing to think in this Sunday matchup but that’s not the case. Buffalo has scored one goal or less five of their last seven games but that doesn’t mean the under has been money in the bank. The last two games have gone over and five of the last seven Sabres games have seen at least five goals. That’s because their defense has been horrendous. They’ve allowed 31 goals in their last seven games, which boils down to an average of 4.43 goals per game. All you really need from them is one goal to get the over if they’re going to keep that up.

The over is 8-2 in Sabres road games where the total is five or less and it’s 7-3 when the Red Wings are at home with the same total. Take the over with your NHL picks.
