Back at digging deep into the NHL odds to come with hopefully three winners on the ice. With a half dozen options for money line or totals plays, have it all broken down for Hump Day.

One game I will not be choosing but following very closely is Washington at Los Angeles. The Capitals ended Anaheim's lengthy 11-game win streak and get a shot at another top Pacific Division squad before heading to San Jose on Saturday. If they manage to sweep the four-game trip, which started with OT victory in Boston, this would further enhance Washington's status as the league's best club. For NHL picks, this is what I have for today.

Islanders Have More Than Enough To Topple The Maple Leafs
The Islanders (37-27 SU) might be without their hot goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who left last contest with four minutes remaining unknown injury in 2-1 win over Pittsburgh. Halak has a 1.66 goals-against average in his last six starts, but backup and essentially co-starter Thomas Greiss is hardly a hack between the pipes and is 7-0-1 with a 2.24 GAA in his last 10 games. His .930 save percentage is the best in the NHL for anyone who has faced at least 800 shots and he has the trust of his teammates if needed.

While New York has won four in a row and seven of eight, Toronto (21-44 SU) has been the complete opposite with six consecutive losses and being taken down in 10 of 11. These teams last met in December at the same venue and the Maple Leafs were whipped 6-3 and are 3-21 revenging a same season loss this campaign. Check out the lines to leverage your cash with this match.

Nashville Nails Calgary On The Road
Nashville (34-33 SU) continues to be a force in the top heavy Central Division, having picked up points in 13 games in a row with 9-0-4 record. The has the Predators in a very good spot to at least have the top wild card position and being only five points behind St. Louis, they could catch the Blues before season's end.

Nashville has opened five-game road trip with a pair of wins and travels to Calgary (27-39 SU), who is really laboring in losing 11 of 13 since Feb.12th, to tie Edmonton and Winnipeg for the fewest points in the West with 59. The Scotiabank Saddledome used to be a safe haven the Flames, but having lost five of six to fall to 17-16 SU at home, this is no longer the case. The NHL odds have Calgary as +135 home underdogs and having the worst special teams in the league, they are 3-13 versus opposing teams who convert on 17 percent or better of power play chances in the second half of the season.

St. Louis Holds Off Chicago
St. Louis (38-29 SU) finished off their road trip with three straight victories and can move into second place tie with Chicago (41-26 SU) and one point behind first place Dallas in the Central with a regulation time triumph. The Blues have won seven of 10, but have lost last two meetings with the Blackhawks, but are in position to snag the top seed in the West by continuing to win.

This game could very well pivot on special teams. Chicago has the best power play in the league at 24.3 percent and they have been extra efficient, with 14 goals in last 28 attempts. It will be up to the Blues to stay out of the penalty box, but if it happens, they are tied with the Islanders as the best penalty killers at 86.6 percent.

St. Louis has not been superb at home with only a 19-15 SU mark, but the Hawks are just 17-16 SU on the road, however, with the Blues playing with double revenge and 9-2 off a road win scoring four or more goals this season, the home team is very inviting.
