The weekend serves up a ton of hockey betting for avid fans of the sport. Here we rundown through some of the choice matchups and serve up hockey picks.

Winnipeg vs. Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Penguins are hanging on to a wildcard spot by a thread following a 5-1 defeat to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday. As a result, they slipped to 30-21-8 on the season and 67 points. Only a point separates the Penguins from the New Jersey Devils and two points from Carolina Hurricanes, their nearest rivals for a wildcard spot. It goes without saying, the Penguins will be looking to bounce back at the expense of the Winnipeg Jets when they host the Canadian outfit in an early tilt on Saturday. Home form is a solid 17-9-4 on the season, which stands the Penguins in good stead. The Jets are a subpar 13-16-3 on the road. In the last ten games, very little separates the pair: Penguins are 5-4-1 while the Jets are 4-5-1.

Rangers vs. Stars
The Rangers and Stars collide in a heavyweight clash on Saturday with the hosts matched to the good on the NHL odds board, anywhere from -127 to -135 depending on your choice sportsbook. The Rangers, however, aren’t priced out of the market in terms of the win. Granted they are underdogs but at low +110 to +120 NHL odds, they are worth the speculative bet on your NHL picks. Indeed, the Rangers are coming off a win over the St. Louis Blues on the road, improving to 7-2-1 in their last ten games. That said they are just 13-14-3 on the road while the Stars are a solid 20-9-0 at home. It’s going to be a tough ask for the Rangers to upset the Stars at home, but there have been chinks in Dallas’ armour of late. They are 5-4-1 in their last ten games and, most recently, lost to the Winning Jets 6-3 at home. Indeed, they’ve lost their last two home games by a whopping 13-5 score combined (includes a 7-2 loss to Boston.

Senators vs. Flames
The Senators and Flames collide in an all Canadian affair on Saturday. The Senators are 29-27-6 on the season, coming off a loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. At one point, the Senators led 3-2 in the game, but they let the lead slip through their fingers as the Canucks rallied to win 5-3. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak ahead of the clash and has the Senators slip to a 6-4-0 mark in their last ten games. The Flames, meanwhile, are in a bit of a slump, losing three straight and slipping to a woeful 4-5-1 mark in their last ten games. Home form stands at a modest 17-13 -1 but they’ve lost four of their last six home games, which doesn’t augur well ahead of their date with the Senators, who are just four points behind the Penguins in the race for a wildcard spot in the East.
