Another round of the NHL is underway on Saturday for hockey fans to sink their teeth into. Here we rundown some of the games to spot on your NHL picks today.

Detroit vs. Ottawa
Two teams enjoying contrasting fortunes feature when the Red Wings and Senators collide. Detroit are coming off back-to-back losses while Ottawa are riding a two-game winning streak, prompting rather mixed market outlooks on the NHL odds board. Some sportsbooks would have the Red Wings favoured on the road to win outright – those include 5Dimes, Pinnacle, Bookmaker and BetCris – despite their recent negative trend. Others are cornering the game in the Senators’ camp such as bet365. The rest seem to be rather coy, pricing both on identical NHL odds of -110 to win outright – those include William Hill, The Greek and Heritage, albeit the latter is serving up -104 NHL odds on the pair. With such juxtaposing outlooks, NHL bettors can rightly assume this game could go either way.

The main reason for the spit opinion is current form which leaves much to be desired in both camps. Red Wings are 5-4-1 in their last ten while the Senators are 4-6-0. Consistency is a challenge for this pair, but the Red Wings have a good enough road record of 14-10-3 and the Senators have an equally good enough (not great) 16-10-4 record at home. This one is a complete and utter tossup for our NHL picks, but we’re leaning towards the Red Wings, who have a 3-1 record over the Senators this season, outscoring them 13-10.

Los Angeles vs. Nashville
The Los Angeles Kings are riding high in the Pacific conference with a 33-20-4 record and 70 points, but the Anaheim Ducks are nipping at their heels, just two points adrift. Things aren’t though as they seem, the Kings have dropped three in a row and slip to a disappointing 4-5-1 record in their last ten games. In more ways than one, this is a must win game for the Kings who have a pretty decent 18-10-3 road record and are more than capable of lighting it up at a given moment. Yet, odds makers send them into this game at the significant disadvantage on the NHL odds board, with odds oscillating from a low of +100 to +115, depending on your sportsbook of choice.

In spite of the market outlook, the Kings have a reasonable shot against the Predators, who are just 5-3-2 in their last ten games. Granted they are coming off a win, a statement win over the Boston Bruins at home in which they shutout the visitors 2-0, but it marked their first home win in three games. They’ve lost four of their last six home games. The hosts are tough to beat at home, especially when Rinne is on form. However, the Kings are always dangerous floaters and at their disadvantaged NHL odds they look too good to skip on our NHL picks.

St. Louis vs. Arizona
The St. Louis Blues come into this game on stellar form, winning four in a row and improving to 6-2-2 in their last ten games. They are 34-17-9 on the season, which includes a 19-9-4 record at home and a 15-8-5 record on the road. Importantly, they are just four points adrift of Central division leaders, Chicago Blackhawks and three points adrift of the Dallas Stars. The Blues will want to keep the pressure on the above tandem as the season hurtles towards the finish line and a pivotal win on the road in Arizona will go some way towards closing the gap. Arizona are a so-so 4-5-1 in their last ten games, but they are riding the momentum of a two-game winning streak, which could send them into this game with optimism despite the NHL odds. The hosts are trading as the underdogs to win straight up with the market ranging anywhere from +110 to +118 depending on the sportsbook. In fact, the Coyotes are coming off rather impressive wins over Montreal and Dallas, beating the pair 6-2 and 6-3, respectively. They’ve also won their last three home games – beating Calgary 4-1 prior to the aforementioned two games. Overall, they’ve outscored opponents 16-6 over those three. If they can take that momentum into this game, they could mastermind the upset on the NHL betting floor. How can we not take the hosts on our NHL picks here?
