Does Jonathan Huberdeau have a chance of becoming the first Florida Panthers player to win the Hart Memorial Trophy? We review the various ways to capitalize on the Panthers’ rise in the NHL standings with our top futures picks.

Prepare your rats because it’s hunting season in the Sunshine State. There have been 50 goals in their last 8 games and the Panthers are playing very entertaining hockey.

Seeing as so many hockey fans are looking for ways to invest in the Panthers and benefit from their success this season, I decided to look at all of their futures and see which could be the most valuable.

I’ve provided several Florida Panthers futures numbers and a breakdown of which ones I believe currently show the most value.

Atlantic Division vs. Presidents’ Trophy

It is now eight wins in nine games for the Florida Panthers, who are the top team in the NHL in points. The Panthers also lead the NHL in goals (158) and goal differential (+47). An NHL best 21-3 record has been achieved by the Panthers at home this season as well.

According to current odds, the Panthers have +333 odds of capturing the Presidents' Trophy, trailing only the Colorado Avalanche at +250. In terms of Panthers division odds, they are +195 to claim the Atlantic Division behind the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are +170 favorites. With both the Lightning and the Panthers for the league lead in points, you cannot win the Presidents' Trophy without winning the Atlantic Division.

Remember that these markets are set based on the liability of the sportsbooks, not on who they think will win. At the start of the year, the Panthers were around +3000 to win the Presidents' Trophy. To me, this line suggests that there is some risk for the sportsbooks on the Panthers in the Presidents' Trophy futures. On the other hand, the Lightning have a heftier liability in the Atlantic Division.

With all of the excitement surrounding Florida and interest in investing in the Panthers, you will find the most value in their division odds at +195 via FanDuel Sportsbook.

Jonathan Huberdeau: Hart Memorial Trophy vs. Art Ross Trophy

In his 10th season with the Florida Panthers, the former 3rd overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Huberdeau has been averaging more than a point per game each of his last four seasons.

I am generally more likely to invest in futures based on statistics than on votes. However, in this instance, Huberdeau at +3000 at PointsBet for the Hart Trophy is a better bet than Huberdeau at +2000 for the Art Ross.

Huberdeau's MVP campaign would be greatly enhanced by the Panthers' success and the Oilers' failure. Even if the Oilers don't make the playoffs, McDavid or Draisaitl might still edge Huberdeau in points. Also, I receive an extra +1000 by backing Huberdeau for the Hart Trophy over the Art Ross.

Additionally, Huberdeau's +2000 at Barstool Sportsbook would also be worth considering if you are interested in the Art Ross Trophy. Huberdeau is as low as +500 at other sportsbooks for this trophy.
