The New York Rangers have lost two straight games, but our SBR hockey handicapper expalins why he's going to lay the bigger price to cash a ticket on the Blueshirts on Tuesday.

Season Record: 46-38 (+15.27 Units)

I know what everyone is going to say, but the the answer to the question is sometimes it's OK to splurge when you see a golden opportunity.  That's what we have with the Rangers tonight against visiting Dallas, even with New York at a big number.

I can't stress shopping around enough, especially when you're looking to play a game with a little juice. I have seen the Rangers as high as -190 on NHL odds, so please get the best out there.  I'm willing to lay a little juice a few times during the season, but certainly not -190.

As long as we're breaking rules, let's knock down another. We have talked about staying away from teams who have players returning, but we're going to break that tonight as Mika Zibanejad will return to the lineup for New York.  Zibanejad has recorded five goals and 10 assists in 19 games. We have talked about how it takes teams a couple of games to adapt to big player coming back. Well, this is Rick Nash's 3rd back from injury so its time for the Rangers and Nash to see a significant offense bump with his return.  That cancels out the Zibanejad return.

Despite the fact that the Stars' Jamie Benn was breaking sticks out of frustration during their loss to Buffalo, the Rangers will have plenty of motivation on their side as well after losing to Montreal and Toronto.  If Benn was so frustrated, perhaps he could have started breaking sticks in Novemeber when it was clear Dallas wasn't the same team it was last season.

Dallas has scored just one goal in its last two games.  I can't justify betting a team that cant find the back of the net against one that should find it more with the recent additions.  Dallas can usually rely on Tyler Seguin to carry it through scoring slumps but even he hasn't found the scoresheet in three of his last four games.  The "Stick Breaker" has just one goal in his last 10 games and only 10 in 41 games this season.

Rangers backup goaltender Antti Raanta will be out 7-10 days with a lower body injury.  That means Henrik Lundqvist will be given a major workload.  This isn't a negative because most netminders are more comfortable when they don't have a threatening backup looming. Expect Lundqvist and the Rangers to get an easy win tonight.
