With the Blackhawks having some issues in their goalie position, there might still be some unexpected value. Read why we're loading up on the 'under' no matter who starts in goal for Chicago.

It's no secret that the Blackhawks have relied heavily on their goaltending this season and for the most part have been able to lean on Corey Crawford and Scott Darling to propel the team to a 21-8-4 record ad a six-point lead in the Central. Last night the Blackhawks came back to beat the St. Louis Blues 6-4 so naturally, the entire betting community is on the 'over' after what they just witnessed.

Bettors are also confused by who will start in goal for Chicago today as Head Coach Joel Quenneville has hinted that Lars Johansson may get his first NHL start. Let's try to read into this a bit.  It's reasonable to assume that if Johansson was going to start the number may be at 5.5.  That's just an assumption but Darling is listed as probable as of now.

A key injury note that needs to be kept in mind from last night's game was Artemi Panarin leaving the game early with an upper-body injury.  No word on his status for today's game but he is listed as day to day. Even if he does play tonight you have to at least consider that the 'hawks leading scorer may not be at full strength. During the Chicago four-game win streak, Panarin has easily been their most consistent player. Patrick Kane has one goal since November 26th which has hurt Chicago offensively so we can't rely on the inconsistent Blackhawks who's 28.8 shots per game rank them 24th in the league.

We do know that Martin Jones will be making the start for the Sharks in goal. Jones led the Sharks to a 2-1 victory last time these two teams met, behind his 33 save effort.

Both teams have historically been safe 'under' bets.

San Jose has typically been an 'under' team cashing 23 of their last 37 games but that includes 7 'pushes' (23-7-7) and 9-2-5 in their last 16 games when playing on just one days rest.

The 'under' is 16-6-5 in Chicago's last 27 games
