Although Vegas has dominated recent meetings with Anaheim, the Ducks won the most recent one. Can Vegas get its revenge? Read on for our Ducks vs. Golden Knights NHL picks based on the best NHL odds.

Vegas has outscored the opposition 10-2 in its two games back from the all-star break and looks to continue that momentum into a clash with Pacific Division rival Anaheim. The Knights have won 13 of the last 16 matchups, but the Ducks won the last one - shocking Vegas in a shootout two months ago in Anaheim.

Here is our best Ducks vs. Golden Knights NHL pick (odds via BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Ducks vs. Golden Knights pick

Over 6.5 (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

The Golden Knights went into the all-star break with just one victory in their final eight games, but a week away from the rink seems to have done them wonders. Vegas posted consecutive 5-1 victories over the Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild in its first two games back from the break this week and now sets its sights on avenging a 3-2 shootout loss to the Ducks when these teams last met on Dec. 28.

The 3-2 score in that previous meeting was extremely misleading, however. The Knights outshot Anaheim 51-27 but were unable to finish on several Grade-A scoring opportunities - including a prolonged 5-on-3 in the opening period. Now that the Golden Knights shooters seem to have regained some confidence this week, expect them to get plenty of opportunities again (and finish a few of them this time) against a Ducks squad that was outshot 59-31 by Pittsburgh on Friday.

Anaheim shouldn’t be able to hold Vegas’ offense in check, but the Ducks could keep this game interesting by potting a few of their own. That’s something Anaheim has been doing lately on the road, where the Ducks have scored at least three goals in seven of their last 11 outings, going 8-3 to the Over in eight of those 11 contests. Anaheim should also get to shoot on Vegas backup Adin Hill, now that starting netminder Logan Thompson is sidelined for several weeks with a lower-body injury.

There isn’t much disparity in the betting market when it comes to the total in this game, with all five of our top recommended sportsbooks dealing -110 juice on both sides.

However, you might be able to find a slightly discounted price by shopping around at other regulated sportsbooks in your jurisdiction. For example, BetWay was offering -105 juice on the Over 6.5 at the time of writing while BetRivers had -108.

Ducks vs. Golden Knights odds analysis

Even though Ducks-Golden Knights may look like a huge mismatch, the big price on Vegas seems to have discouraged bettors from piling on the home side. In fact, Anaheim’s price has gotten shorter at FanDuel, which opened the Ducks as +290 underdogs but had dropped that line to +270 by Sunday morning.

There hasn’t been much movement on the total either. FanDuel shaded the total to the Under on the opener, offering Over 6.5 -105/Under 6.5 -115, but the line quickly moved to -110 on both sides and remained that way overnight.
