We share valuable betting insight to apply to the Stanley Cup Playoffs Picks, focusing here on Game 7 between the NY Islanders and Washington Capitals on Monday.

Game 7 between Islanders and Capitals on Monday
The Washington Capitals will host the New York Islanders on Monday at 7:35 PM ET in a deciding Game 7 of their playoff series. According to the NHL odds at Pinnacle, Washington is a -135 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. This will be the eleventh meeting of the season between these Metropolitan Division rivals, they’ve split the first ten games, and six of the ten have gone under the total.

Series Notes
These two teams have seen four of the first six games go under the total. Although, two of the three played in Washington went over the number.

The NY Islanders hold a slight 198-195 shots on goal advantage in the series. However, the Capitals have a decisive edge of 101-71 in that category during the three games played at Washington.

The Islanders have gone a dismal 0-for-13 on the power play through the first six games. The Capitals were the best on the power play in the NHL during the regular season. However, they’re just 2-for-11 with the man advantage during the playoffs.

Barring something unforeseen, the starting goaltenders for Game 7 will be Jaroslav Halak for the Islanders, and Braden Holtby for the Capitals. Halak has started in all six games of the series, and posted a stellar .926 save percentage. Holtby has made the start in five of the six games, and has an outstanding .945 save percentage during those outings.

Final Analysis
This Islander team has shown a lot of grit all season long, and I expect nothing less than a superb performance from them on Monday. I picked the Islanders to win this series in seven games prior to the start of the playoffs, and I’m sticking to my guns when making my NHL picks on Monday.

NHL Picks: Play the Islanders +122 at Pinnacle.
