We've done very well with our NHL Picks and with a handful of games on this Monday, there's a great opportunity for to make a profit as I see some games that appear to have a decisive edge.

Arizona Coyotes vs. New York Islanders

Switching Roles?
At 9-7-1, the Arizona Coyotes have shown dramatic improvement from a disastrous season last year. This is what happens when a team actually puts the puck in the net as the Coyotes are 10th in the NHL in scoring.

Tonight, they face an Islanders team who have a big hill to climb, going 4-4-2 in their last 10 games and with a lot of teams ahead of them in the Eastern Conference. A team can only concentrate one game at a time and a matchup against the Coyotes that appeared to be a win at the beginning of the season on the schedule, will be more of a challenge, but the Islanders (9-6-3) are coming off of a confidence boosting 4-1 victory over the very disappointing Anaheim Ducks as Fran Nielsen came up with 2 game clinching goals in the 3rd period.

Plenty of Arsenal
The Islanders defense is 5th in the league and will be tested here and they will rely upon their quartet of John Tavares (7 goals, 7 assists), Kyle Okposo (4 goals, 9 assists), Frans Nielsen (7 goals, 5 assists), and  Brock Nielsen (5 goals, 5 assists). They have plenty of options, especially one of the best players in the league in Tavares as the Coyotes aren't a defensive-oriented team. This is a very solid matchup for the Isles.'

The Coyotes rank 22nd in the NHL in defense at 2.9 goals per game and are also a weak power play team offensively. A high scoring game will defintiely favor this much improved squad.

Thus far, center, Martin Hanzal, hasn't been looking for his shot, but has been a superb setup man as he ranks 5th in the NHL in assists with 14 as opoosed to his 2 goals. He leads the Coyotes in points and right behind him is goal scorer, Max Domi, who has 8 goals and 7 assists on the season to go along with a +5 in the plus/minus ratio. Domi is the go to guy and a very accurate shooter in which the Islanders defense will look to shadow.

A good defense usually beats a good offense and the Islanders have one of the best defense. New York is the NHL pick.

NHL Pick: Islanders -180 at 5Dimes

Anaheim Ducks vs. Carolina Panthers

Bottom-Feeders
Who would've thought that the Anaheim Ducks would be put in the category of bottom-feeder? The numbers don't lie as the Ducks come into this, just like the Hurricanes, on a 3 game losing streak and are also 1-5-1 on the road. A lack of offense has led to their demise thus far and the question is "can they turn it around?"

Odds makers always give the Ducks the benefit of the doubt as they are a -115 betting favorite on the NHL odds,in this matchup and they've done nothing to warrant being a betting faovrite.

Anaheim ranks #1 in power play killing and they've had plenty of opportunity as they've been on the defensive all season long as they average just 1.6 goals per game. This is rather low and ranks 30th in the NHL. I think Anaheim is a much better team than what they've shown this season, but you can't win games averaging 1.6 goals per contest.

Corey Perry
While Ryan Getzlaf has fallen off the map, still looking for his 1st goal of the season, Corey Perry has kept this team afloat at 5 goals and 6 assists. Perry is an aggressive player that's not afraid to mix it up and is on a roll as of late. In his last 2 games, Perry has 3 goals and in his last 5 games, he has 4 goals and 3 assists. At this point in the season, Perry is the Ducks only consistent option on offense.

Carolina  might have more offensive options such as Eric Staal, Justin Falk, and Victor Rask, but they aren't much better on offense as a team than the Ducks as they rank 28th in the NHL and also allow 2.9 goals per game. This is a perfect opportunity for the Ducks offense to get going.

NHL Pick: Ducks -115 at Pinnacle
