Our professional capper has gone a stellar 22-11 with all of his picks during the past fourteen days. Go inside to read his insightful NHL betting preview article on Lightning vs. Islanders.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Islanders
The Islanders will look to even their Eastern Conference Semifinal series up at 2-2 when they host Tampa Bay on Friday. The opening faceoff at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn is slated for 7:05 PM ET. Tampa Bay won 5-4 in overtime on Tuesday to take their first lead of the series. These teams have seen their six games played against one another this season go 4-0-2 over the total, and each club won three times. Current NHL odds at BetOnline has the Islanders as a -108 money line favorite and the posted total is 5.0.

Huge Momentum Swing for Bolts
Tampa was looking at a 2-1 series deficit in Game 3 before tying it up 4-4 with just 38 seconds left to play in regulation time. They carried that momentum into overtime, then scored less than three minutes into the extra session, and literally stole a road win. In doing so, the Lightning recaptured their home ice advantage in this series. They also were able to ratchet up the pressure on the Islanders who can ill afford to fall into a 3-1 series hole, and especially so with Game 5 shifting back to Tampa. The Lightning have held a substantial territorial edge in this series, outshooting the Islanders in all three games, and doing so by a wide shots on goal margin of 108-81.

Gut Wrenching Loss
The Islanders squandered a golden opportunity to seize control of the series as a result of Tuesday overtime loss on home ice. There’s no time for them to feel sorry for themselves, and it will be imperative they quickly regroup heading into Game 4. This will be the first time during these 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs that they’ve lost two straight games. It’s also the only time that the Islanders find themselves trailing in a series. On a more positive note, they’ve gone 6-2 during their last eight games following a loss. Thomas Greiss has continued to play well in goal during this postseason, compiling a stellar .930 save percentage while starting all of the Islanders nine playoff games.

Final Take and Pick
Since the start of the 2014-2015 NHL campaign, the Islanders have gone an extremely profitable 21-6 at home, following a game in which they allowed 4 goals or more. In that exact same time period, Tampa Bay is 7-17 in away games, following a road win in which they scored 4 goals or more. I like the home team to bounce back this evening with a gritty effort, and they’ll be one of my NHL picks today.
