There are seven games on the NHL card on Tuesday night and this handicapper has circled his three favorite NHL picks from the options including Senators/Blues, Flames/Ducks & Kings/Predators.

Ottawa Senators vs. St. Louis Blues

NHL Odds: Blues -220

No team is allowing less goals per game than the St. Louis Blues as their 2.00 mark paces the NHL. On Tuesday, they’ll try to muzzle the Ottawa Senators who visit. The Sens haven’t been doing much scoring lately and average a better number at home (2.90) than they do away (2.44).

The Sens find themselves in a back-to-back situation on the road, which is going to make it even tougher for them to score goals. I like the Blues to win this game outright but the juice is simply too high. Another option is the puck line but under should work too because if the Blues win, they likely dictate the pace with their defense and keep this below the number. NHL betting odds today are a low total of five, but still go under.

Calgary Flames vs. Anaheim Ducks

NHL Odds: Ducks -180

The Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks squared off last Tuesday in a contest that produced seven goals. Now they face off exactly a week later in a game that should also be high scoring.

We see a total of 5.5 in this spot and the game should go over the number. Jonas Hiller is expected to be in net versus his former team and that’s not necessarily a good thing for the Flames. Hiller has allowed three goals or more in four straight starts and six of seven. He has a lousy .884 save percentage this month. The Ducks are getting healthier and should be able to fire up their offense in this one.

10 of the Flames last 11 games have seen six goals or more, so the trends definitely point to an over. Aim for that to continue in this spot.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Nashville Predators

Odds: Predators -120

It’s hard to trust the Los Angeles Kings on the road as they have lost seven of their last eight away games. In their latest outing, they trailed the Dallas Stars 4-0 in the second period before losing 5-4. Dallas is a horrible home team and that win was just their third in 12 home games. If the Kings can lose in Dallas, they can surely lose in Nashville. The issue seems to be goaltending as the Kings have given up 28 non-shootout goals in their eight away games. That’s a big contrast to their 1.46 GAA average at home, which is the best in the NHL. On the road, that number dips to 3.50.

Nashville is an impressive 7-1-1 at home this season and comes into this game on a hot streak. They’ve won six of eight. Take them with your NHL picks here.
