The first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are always unpredictable, as the Blackhawks, Wild, Sharks and Bruins all found out in series losses. Now we have some interesting Conference Semifinal matchups.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Resuming Wednesday

The NHL Playoffs resume on Wednesday night with the first two of four Conference Semifinal rounds getting underway with Vladimir Tarasenko (5 Goals/Assists Series Over 5 -115, BetOnline) and the Blues hosting the Predators in Game 1 of their best-of-7 series (NBCSN, 8 p.m. ET; STL -118, NASH -102, 5u -125, BookMaker; Series to Go 7 Games +201, BookMaker), followed by Connor McDavid and upstart Edmonton in Anaheim for Game 1 of their Western Conference opener (NBCSN, 10:30 p.m. ET; ANA -125, EDM +115, 5 -105, 5Dimes; Series to Go 7 Games +181, BookMaker). Capitals, Pens Eastern Semifinals Will Seem Like Stanley Cup Finals

There are some very intriguing stories with the last eight teams left alive in these NHL Playoffs, including Senators Goalie and Masterson Trophy-candidate Craig Anderson, whose wife Nicholle is battling a rare form of throat cancer and who traveled to Boston to see her husband help oust the Bruins to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Anderson, Bobby Ryan and Ottawa host the Rangers in Game 1 on Thursday night (CNBC, 7 p.m. ET; OTT +100, NYR -110, 5u -120, 5Dimes) in Game 1 of their best-of-7 Conference Semi series. Also, Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Bäckström and the Capitals (+300 to win Stanley Cup, Field -400, BetOnline) host Sidney Crosby and the Penguins Thursday in Game 1 (NBCSN, 7:30 p.m. ET; WASH -135, PIT +125, 5½o -110, 5Dimes) of their highly anticipated Eastern Conference series at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC, a series that may end up providing this year's Stanley Cup winner.
