This is the second of back to back games and the fourth in six days for the Leafs. Champion handicapper Dana Lane anticipates a slower pace game with reliable goaltending.

Washington Capitals vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Last night was a huge victory for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a city that they haven’t had much success in, as they took down the Buffalo Sabres 4-2.

Even with a five-point lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning there isn't any guarantee that the Leafs will participate in the playoffs, but if the Bruins beat the Lightning tonight the Leafs will all but officially be in the postseason.

The Capitals have their own goals staring them in the eye.  With a victory they will, at the worst, have a five point lead in the Metro Division with three to play, depending on the Penguins, Jackets match-up.

Both teams have much on the line so it’s reasonable to expect both to have a feeling out process until the first goal is scored.

The total on the game has stayed steady at 5.5 with 85% of all early tickets written have supported the ‘over’, pushing the number to be shaded -125 to the ‘over’.  Make sure to always shop for the best lines available here

The Leafs jumped on the Sabres quick last night with three goals early, chasing Sabres netminder Robin Lehner after just 5:09.  Other than that the Leafs scored just one goal in the other 54:51.

We’re presented with another scenario where the last game of the series produced a large amount of goals, 11 to be exact, causing the public to use that as a platform for their opnion.  Know one thing about the rivalry with the Sabres, both teams have genuine distain for the other.  Their games produce a high energy, playoff atmosphere due to theircities close proximity to each other, so even with the opponent being the Capitals it’s reasonable to expect a Leafs letdown, strangely enough.

The Leafs held a players only meeting this morning probably to discuss how to keep the energy level up.  Easier said than done against one of the leagues better defensive teams.
