Our NHL consultant examines the game on Tuesday between Vancouver and Nashville. Can the Canucks continue their winning ways on the road? Will the Predators reestablish their home ice dominance which has waned a bit lately? Find out the answers by reading this revealing betting preview article.
Canucks in “Music City” on Tuesday
The Nashville Predators will host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday at 8:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at BetOnline, Nashville is a -140 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. This will be the third meeting of the season between these Western Conference clubs, and Nashville won each of the first two by scores of 3-1 and 5-1. However, Vancouver has gone a very profitable 8-2 in their last ten games at Nashville.
Road Warriors of Late
The Vancouver Canucks have won the last four, and eight of their previous eleven road games. Seven of those eight wins came as a money line underdog of +125 or more. The Canucks have scored three goals or more in five of the last six, and seven of their previous nine games. Vancouver hasn’t seen any of their previous five on the road go over the total. Today will be the Canucks third game in the last four days, and Vancouver has gone a perfect 5-0 the previous five times they were thrust into that exact scenario. The Canucks have also gone over the total in only one of their previous eight when playing three games in four days.
Home Domination temporarily comes to a Stop
The Nashville Predators began this season by going an extremely profitable 22-4 against the money line in their first twenty-six games at home. Since that time they’ve gone a dismal 2-6 in their last eight games on home ice. As a matter of fact, the Predators are coming off a 5-2 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday, and that ended a four game winning streak. This will be the fourth game in six days for the Predators, and they’ve gone a dismal 1-6 in their last seven in that exact situation.
The Vancouver Canucks have really stepped up their play versus quality competition in recent games. They’ve gone 8-1 in their last nine contests when facing an opponent with a winning record. Considering how well the Canucks have played on the road over the past month, I’m enticed by the value of the road underdog in this contest, and that will be one of my NHL picks on Tuesday.
NHL Pick: Play on Vancouver +130 on the money line over Nashville at Pinnacle.
