If you’re looking for the inside NHL betting scoop on tonight’s game between Chicago and Vancouver, then look no further. Read our detailed analysis which culminates with a free NHL pick.

Hawks/Canucks to Clash on Sunday Night
The Canucks host the Blackhawks tonight at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver with the opening face-off slated for 9:35 PM ET (time change). According to the NHL betting odds at Bookmaker, Chicago is a -120 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. These two Western Conference clubs met three times last season with the Blackhawks winning both games in Vancouver, and the Canucks taking the other contest at the United Center in Chicago.

Starting to Heat Up
As I’ve alluded to on a couple of occasions in previous articles at Sportsbook Review, it would be just a matter of time before Chicago starts to put it all together. Well the time is here and now. The Hawks have won their last 3, 5 of the last 6, and are coming off a 7-1 shellacking of the Oilers last night in Edmonton. After having some early season struggles in finding the back of the net, Chicago has scored 33-goals combined over their previous 8-games. Their special team play efficiency rating is 2nd overall in the NHL, and only the Pittsburgh Penguins have been better. They’re averaging a robust 36.7 shots on goal per game, and that ranks as tops in the league.

Nice Start for Canucks
Despite suffering a 4-3 home loss at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks in the previous game, the Canucks are off to a stellar 13-7 start against the money line. They’re currently tied for 4th overall in the Western Conference standings, and are just 2-points behind the Anaheim Ducks who hold down the top spot. Although Ryan Millers save percentage of only .900 doesn’t indicate it, the Canucks are a superb 12-3 against the money line when he’s their starting goaltender. If there’s a legitimate criticism to be heard pertaining to the Canucks, it would be their play at home. The Canucks have gone a terrific 8-3 on the road, and are just 5-4 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. As a matter of fact, they’ve lost the last 2, and 3 of their last 4 home games.

Final Analysis
This will be the Blackhawks 3rd road game in the last 4-nights. The Canucks haven’t played since their home loss to the Ducks on Thursday. When you have two quality teams squaring off, the rest factor can be a key when making my NHL picks. I’m giving the slightest of NHL betting edges to the home team in this one.
