The home team in this series has won four of the last five games, read on to see if champion handicapper Dana Lane believes that this trend will continue or is it time to ride the Blue Jackets, post break streak.

Tonight, the Columbus Blue Jackets travel to Montreal to face the Canadiens at the Bell Centre in a game that has seen the public support the Jackets. Over 78% of all wagers taken have John Tortorella's team on their ticket.

With two games in hand it's time for the real Montreal Canadiens to show up, for better or worse.  There was a brief period of time that it wasn't inconceivable that Claude Julien's team wouldn't even make the playoffs but with two straight wins Montreal has given themselves some room on top of the Atlantic.

Looking ahead it's not unreasonable to envision that the Habs and Jackets could meet in the first round of the playoffs.  I would anticipate that Montreal would want to send a message at home in the teams only Montreal meeting.

Although the Blue Jackets have been in Montreal waiting, while the Habs played in New Jersey, it's important to remeber that Carey Price didn't start the Devils game so he should be rested. This will be the first time Price has faced Columbus this season with Montoya taking the two losses in Ohio. One of those games was a 10-0 Blue Jacket victory, a win that has to still stick in the side of the Canadiens when 16 of the 18 Blue jackets skaters recorded a point.  I would think that Montreal would be highly motivated to rectify that loss. Overall, Columbus have beaten Montreal four straight times, winning by a combined score of 22-5.  If Montreal drops this one, they'll have a hard time mentally if they meet in the first round.

Julien's team must win the special teams battle as they've allowed 7 power play goals in their last 12 kills against Columbus.

We've seen Columbus go on a long winning streak this season but one of the key ways to make serious money betting hockey is identifying a team that could have the potential to go on a winning streak as early as possible.  Montreal has now won two straight games for the first time since January 7th.  Perhaps this is the start of a winning streak as Claude Julien's system is implemented.
