The Boston Bruins are the NHL’s hottest team with 12 straight wins. The next team up is the Montreal Canadiens who have had Boston’s number in recent meetings. Can they cool off the streaking B’s?

The Canadiens Can Win Because…..

They’ve owned the Bruins of late. They’ve won five of the last meetings overall and their only loss in that streak was the latest outing when star goaltender Carey Price was sidelined. Other than that, they’ve been a thorn in Boston’s side.

In his career against Boston, Price is a healthy 17-8-3 with a 2.50 save percentage and a .919 save percentage. On the flip side, Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask has a lifetime 3-10-2 record against Montreal while posting a 2.75 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

That’s the main reason why you should take the Canadiens with your NHL picks.

The Bruins Can Win Because……
They’re playing their best hockey of the season. For Boston, the key is simply goal scoring. They’re one of the best defensive teams in the league, so when they’re scoring goals at a healthy clip, they’re nearly impossible to beat. Right now, the Bruins are averaging 3.92 goals per game and have scored four or more 11 of their last 14 games.

It’s pretty tough to go against them with your sports picks when they’re cooking like that.

Outlook & Pick
The Bruins are clicking right now but the Habs definitely dominate this series. With Rask’s struggles against Montreal, it’s tough to lay this type of juice with Boston. Because of that, I’m inclined to take a flier with Montreal as there’s plenty of value on this line. The NHL odds don’t accurately depict how this series has gone.

Over is also a good choice. The Bruins offense is on absolute fire right now, averaging nearly four goals per game. That makes the total of five seem pretty low for this one.
