One more plus money winner to send us into the postseason. Neither team has much to play for except getting to the post and off season healthy.  Dana explains why the ‘under’ is the proper side to cap off another successful season.

Florida Panthers vs Washington Capitals

It’s incredible to think that the final day of the NHL regular season is upon us but here it is. It seems like yesterday I was writing team by team season previews.  We’ve had another great season and hopefully we’ll cap it off with a solid plus money winner.  Win or lose I hope you can see how the end result will be a success if you just manage your money properly.

I'm sure both team wish they didn't have to play this one but in some ways this is the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup.  End the season on a high note against the Capitals who can match their 120 point total of last season with a victory, unreal really, considering how tough the Metropolitan Division has been this season.

I’m a little surprised that there aren’t any 5.5’s out there but if I think it’s going under 5.5 then I shouldn’t feel any different about a 5. I don’t handicap hoping to win games by a half goal.

Even though the Caps are more focused on next week’s match-up against either the Toronto Maple Leafs or Boston Bruins, I expect Barry Trotz’s team to play much the way they did Saturday, shutting down the Boston Bruins 3-1 for their third straight season sweep of Boston.

Speaking of defense, the Panthers shut out the Buffalo Sabres 3-0 Saturday, led by James Reimer’s 30 save effort.  Reimer will get today’s start.

Panthers interim Head Coach Tom Rowe will not be retained so expect the Panthers to give Rowe a solid defensive effort on the way to his cab.  Sorry, bad Panther joke.

Best of luck, see you in the playoffs.
