An often overlooked aspect of NHL betting is the puck-line. Tonight we’ve isolated a tremendous puck-line value in the game between Nashville and St. Louis. Read our insightful article on this very topic which details our reasons why we’ve chosen this game.

Predators Invade St. Louis
The St. Louis Blues will play host to the Nashville Predators tonight at 8:05 PM ET. Our focus will be on the puck-line in this contest. According to the NHL betting odds at Bookmaker, the Blues are -1.5 (+175) and the Predators +1.5 (-205) on the puck-line. Ironically, all three games played this season between these Central Division rivals were each decided by one goal.

Great Record comes with a Catch
The Nashville Predators enter tonight having won six of their last eight games. However, it must be noted, the Predators have gone a dismal 1-8 this season after winning six or seven of their previous eight games. The Predators will also be without the services of goaltender Pekka Rinne for the next three to five weeks. Renne is sidelined with a lower body injury. All Rinne has done this season is go 28-9 in 37-starts while compiling a terrific .931 save percentage. Carter Hutton is slated to be in goal tonight for the Predators. Hutton has gone a horrible 0-7 in his starts on the road this season, and has a less than impressive .888 save percentage in those outings.

Playing Championship Hockey
Similar to tonight’s opponent, the St. Louis Blues have been on quite a winning roll. The Blues enter tonight’s Central Division showdown having won seven of their previous eight games which you should consider when making your NHL picks. St. Louis has seen six of those seven wins come by two goals or more. The Blues will opt to go with all-star Brian Elliott in goal tonight. Elliott has a stellar .930 save percentage in 22-starts this season. Tonight will be the finale of a successful seven game in twenty-two day home stand for the Blues. As a result, they’ll be plenty rested, and should have an enormous amount of energy.

Final Analysis
The Nashville Predators are coming off a 4-3 home win over the Colorado Avalanche in their previous game. The St. Louis Blues are coming off consecutive home wins by scores of 3-1 over Colorado, and 3-0 versus Toronto. These results set up an extremely profitable money line betting system which in turn uncovers a very nice puck-line value.

Any money line favorite (St. Louis), coming off two consecutive home wins by two goals or more, versus an opponent (Predators) coming off a home one goal win, has seen the favorite go 55-12 (82.1%) since 1996. The favorite also had a sizable +1.4 goal per game differential in those sixty-seven contests.

NHL Pick: Play on St. Louis -1.5 (+175) over Nashville at Bookmaker.
