The Vancouver Canucks are on a roll as they’ve won five of six. On Thursday, they’ll visit the San Jose Sharks, who have won three of four. The Sharks are a -155 favorite on the NHL betting lines.

The Vancouver Canucks Can Win Because…
They are playing as good as anyone right now. The Canucks have won five of six and they are stymying their opponents. They’ve allowed more than two goals just once in that stretch (three to the Nashville Predators) and that was with Eddie Lack in net. Ryan Miller has a sparkling 9-1-0 record with a 2.22 GAA and a .917 save percentage. He’s the main reason why the Canucks are turning things around.

As for the Sharks, they have not been a very steady home team of late. They’ve dropped two of three at the Shark Tank with losses to the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets. The Canucks are far better than both of those teams. That’s why the Canucks are worth a play with your NHL picks here.

The San Jose Sharks Can Win Because…
The Canucks are overrated. Taking a look back, their schedule has been pretty light this season. Sure, Miller has nine wins in 10 starts but when you consider that three of his wins came against Edmonton, one against Calgary, Colorado and Carolina, and his lone loss was to Dallas, it becomes evident that he’s built up his resume on cupcakes.

The San Jose Sharks are a stronger team than their 7-4-2 record indicates. They’ve had a grueling schedule to start the season as they’ve already played nine road games – the most in the NHL. However, they’ve been off resting since Saturday, so they’ll be fresh for this one. That’s why they’re such a big favorite.

Outlook & Pick
Choosing a side could be tough as both teams are playing well. It looks like there’s good NHL odds value with the Canucks but they’re on the road and the Sharks are rested at home.

Instead, we’ll look at the total. The Canucks have been solid between the pipes (2.00 GPG in last six) while the Sharks have the sixth-fewest goals per game (2.00) at home. That means under should be the best play in this one.
