Ross Benjamin comes in off a 2-0 day on Monday, and he now provides us with a betting preview for tonight’s Ducks/Flyers game. Read this informative sports betting article that concludes with a money line NHL free pick.

Ducks Fly to the City of Brotherly Love
The Flyers will entertain the Ducks today at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with a scheduled start time of 7:05 PM ET. According to NHL betting odds, the Ducks are a -120 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. These teams have seen their last 5-meetings in Philadelphia all go under the total. Anaheim has gone 5-1 in their last 6-games at the Wells Fargo center.

End of Road Trip for Anaheim
Anaheim had the unenviable task of beginning the season by playing 4 consecutive road games over a 6-day period. That trip will conclude this evening, and they will return to Anaheim for their home opener on Friday versus the Minnesota Wild. The Ducks opened the season last Thursday with a 6-4 loss at Pittsburgh. Since then, they’ve bounced back with wins at Detroit 3-2 on Saturday, and 5-1 at Buffalo yesterday afternoon. Playing with little or no rest hasn’t been a deterrent whatsoever for the Ducks. They’ve gone 19-7 in the last 26 with no rest, 23-6 in the last 29 when playing their 3rd game in 4-days, and 25-8 in their last 33 when playing their 4th in 6-days. The Ducks have seen 9 of their last 10-games go over the total when they’re installed as a money line road favorite.

Rough Start for the Flyers
The Flyers have begun the season by losing each of their first 3-games. The most disappointing of which came on Saturday in a 4-3 home loss to the Montreal Canadiens. The Flyers led in that game 3-0 entering the 3rd period. The Canadiens rallied with 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd period, and then went on to win 4-3 in an overtime shootout. This horrible start has been eerily similar to what Flyers fans witnessed a season ago when they lost 7 of the first 8, and 11 of their first 15-games. Going back to last season, the Flyers have now dropped 5 of their last 6 regular season home games. And before locking in your NHL picks, do note that they’ve seen 6 of their last 7 regular season home games go over the total.

Final Analysis
I’m not overly enamored with this betting situation today. However, considering how the Ducks have been so profitable in these types of scenarios and the Flyers are finding ways to lose in the early going, my small lean here favors the road team.
